Just Friends

This is a collaboration poem I did with someone from school about two friends who were secretly in love with each other

He loves her more than she'll ever know
She stares at him as if he were made of a thousand stars but he will never notice
Everytime he looks at her smile it is like a thousand suns shine down a grace the world with her beauty
She watches the moonlight dance across his face and studies his features as if every time is the last time she will look at him
He glances down at her and watches as her eyes light up under the shimmering light of the moon
Every time their eyes catch she feels like there is a perfect storm raging in her heart
Whenever he saw her,his heart skipped a beat and he knew this wasn't like anything he felt before
She couldn't explain the reason her heart led her to something that could never be hers
He never understood why his heart longed for her even if it was all a dream
she wants to tell him how much he really means to her about the place he holds in her heart but surely that would drive him away.
He knew if he told her she would turn away and leave tearing him apart leaving his heart forever beating for her
so here she sits next to him, wishing he was hers but rather settling on two heartbreaking words, "just friends"
So he sits and silently loves her dreaming and hoping for her to be his but knowing it wouldn't be he came to the conclusion that they were "just friends"
