Before we knew

Before i knew you

i thought being brave was not begin afraid 

you taught me 

that bravery is beging terrified but doing it anyway

before i knew you

i thought family was only blood

you taught me

that family was defined by bond not blood

before i knew you

i thought i was alone in life

you taught me

that people care in their own way and that i am never alone

before i knew you

i thought alot of things

you've taught me alot

so why shouldn't i do the same

before you knew me 

you thought because your parents ,that you had to follow in their footsteps

i taught you

that we make our own paths and make our own set of footprints

before you knew me

you thought that people had to be like you

i taught you

that everyone is different and just wants to be themselves

before we knew each other

we thought of things untrue

but we taught each other

many things unlike before we knew
