Chapter 41 - Meeting the Hokages

Third Person's POV

Everyone stopped walking when Mai stopped.

She look up the sky with a frown on her face.

"That chakra..." Orochimaru said.

"Everyone's fighting hard right now. We have to hurry..." Mai said and continue walking.

They finally reach their first destination.

"This is the place huh?" Suigetsu said.

"The Uzumaki clan has been abandon for a very long time. Of course, I suppose this is what's left of it..." Mai said.

They went in the building.

"Whoaaa..." Again, Suigetsu said.

Masks are hanged on the wall.

Mai look at all of them.

"Which one?" Sasuke asked Orochimaru.

Mai look down and quietly went out of the building.

Itachi saw her and followed her. He saw her standing outside the building, looking up the sky.

"Mito... Hashirama's wife, she's the strongest woman I have ever know. She was my best friend. Basically my one and only girl friend. Since the Uzumakis and the Senju are close, it was obvious that all of us were close as well.  During the time after Madara's death, she consoled me. But... It was too late, I'm already broken" Mai said.

She turn around, facing Itachi and smiled.

"I suppose I owe her an apology. Maybe the next time I meet her, I'll apologise" Mai said.

Itachi didn't say anything.

"Well, It's okay. I suppose I'm just feeling a bit sentimental" Mai said, smiling, patting Itachi's shoulder.

"Let's go" Sasuke said, coming out from the building along with everyone else.

"Got the mask?" Mai asked.

"Yess, Pretty sure it's the right one" Orochimaru said.

"Pretty sure...?" Suigetsu said.

"Konoha's next. Where all the secret liess" Orochimaru said.

They walk for a distance and finally reach Konoha.

"So Quiet..." Mai said sadly.

Sasuke suddenly jumped up on the roof and onto the electric pole (A/N: Probably is an electric pole...)

"What the hell is he doing?" Suigetsu said, looking up at Sasuke.

"He's just like me before operation destroy Konoha" Orochimaru said.

Mai glared at him.

"Hehehe, don't look at me like that, that was long time ago" Orochimaru said.

"How is he like you?" Suigetsu ask.

"Even if the village, and himself has change. This place is still his homeland where he was born. He needs some time to rethink his choices and resolves by retracing back his past self and memories" Orochimaru said.

"Itachi let's go find the Uchiha Nakano's Shrine" Mai said.

Itachi nod and follow after Mai.

"If it's still the same place, then it should be around here" Mai said.

Sasuke came down and follow them both. They found the shrine. Or at least what's left of the shrine.

"Damn, it's destroyed completely" Suigetsu said.
