Chapter 14 - Battle Start

Mai's POV

After a month, the final stage of the chunin exam finally start.

I sat by Hiruzen's side as I watch the genins match against each other.

Naruto's match start. He fight against Neji.

"I must say, I'm very proud of Naruto..." I said.

"Hm, I can see why" Hiruzen said.

"I've been wondering, who might you be?" The Kazekage ask.

"Her name's Mai, She's my special guest for today" Hiruzen answered.

"I see...." The Kazekage look at me with those menacing eyes.

Something's off about this guy.

I continue watching Naruto's match until I was surprised to see Naruto use the Kyuubi's chakra.

That man must have teach him how to use it....

The match ended with Naruto winning.

I smile proudly.

Next match comes.

Its suppose to be Sasuke's turn but he's still not here. That Kakashi, I need to give him a big scolding later on.

Although many of the... Nobels... Wants to see an Uchiha's match. So they posponed it.

Next is Shino and the Sand village ninja, Kankuro. But he give up, making Shino the winner.

Sasuke's match is then push all the way to the last match.

Next up is Shikamaru and the Sand village girl, Temari.

The boy really interest me though...

He has a good leadership attitude, a smart one too... the only thing needed to be fixed is His lazy attiude.

Although... I think almost all of the Nara clan are like that.

I chuckled lightly.

"Is there anything funny?" Hiruzen ask.

"No, Nothing. Its just that that boy... He'll be a good leader one day" I said.

"Huhu, I can see what you mean" Hiruzen said.

"Unlike Naruto and Neji, Shikamaru may not be as strong as them, but his knowledge and the way he thinks makes him a suitable candidate for a chunin" I said.

"I agree..." Hiruzen said.

The match ended with Shikamaru giving up, even with him almost winning. He reasoned up that his chakra level's too low and its troublesome...

Now is Sasuke's match. A swirl of leaves suddenly appears in the middle of the field and there stood Kakashi and Sasuke.

I sigh.

Sasuke then look around and saw me.

I smile and wave at him.

He blushed and look away quickly.

I chuckled.

Not long after, I can smell blood. Gaara came down and his eyes, full of bloodlust.

The fight starts.

Kakashi definitely manage to train him well.

Although, right now, I can sense that he's losing control to the One tail...

I glance at the Kazekage. He should know too... And he is the boy's father...

"Is there anything wrong?" He ask.
