Chapter 48 - Madara, Revived

Third Person's POV

Dropping down to the ground. Obito finally lost. 

"Mai-san!"

Mai looks around her. Itachi's Susanoo surrounds her.

"Itachi... How's everything?" She asked.

"Sasuke and everyone else manages to extract the bijuu's chakra out of Juubi itself" Itachi said.

Mai nod, standing up.

"What about Obito?" Mai asked.

"H-Hey!!"

Both of them look to their side, Sasuke started running towards the fallen Obito.

"Where's that bastard?!" A Random shinobi said. 

"What happened to him?!" Another one said.

"Over there! He's still alive!!" Another said.

Obito looks at Sasuke who's running towards him.

'that's right... I lost...' Obito thought.

Knowing what Sasuke's attempting to do, Mai ran towards Sasuke.

"Sasuke wait!" Mai said.

Not listening to her, he continues on.

Kakashi then appears out of nowhere with a kunai in his hand, pinning Obito down.

"Kakashi..."

"Sasuke, I promise we'll talk in detail later. And I'm sorry for appearing so suddenly. But please as his teammate let me take the responsibility" Kakashi said.

"Kakashi! Wait he's--"

About to stab Obito, Minato appears and stop him.

Mai sigh.

"Sasuke... go on. I'll handle here" Mai said. 

Sasuke looks at her, then to Obito and Kakashi. He turns around and continues on with Naruto towards Madara. 

She ran towards them. 

"Time to finish him off!!" The other shinobi cheered on.

With one glare, those who saw Mai's glare shut up. 

"Obito, Kakashi...and Minato... I'm sure many of this has happened in the past. And each one of you knows each other's feelings and story now. However, it doesn't make this your fault. You all each took your own path. Regretting some decisions you all made. Rin, your teammate, I'm sure she doesn't want to see you all like this. Perhaps this is her way of scolding all of you" Mai said.

"...Rin... she was my only light and hope. After I lost her, this world changed into darkness. I didn't have anyone with me. Rin was the only one... This world is hopeless. I took Madara's identity and walked the world. But all that did was confirmed it further. Even possessing the sharingan didn't reveal anything to me. Cause there was nothing to see" Obito said.

"...I didn't know for sure either..." Kakashi said.

"Then you can't say my path--"

"The path you took was just one of the many paths. And it may not be wrong either. I've thought that this world was hell too. I lost you... I lost Rin. Then I lost Minato-sensei... But... Even though I don't know anything for sure... I tried my best to see the world with this eye. I felt that as long as I have your words and your Sharingan. I could see the future" Kakashi said.

Mai smiled at him.

"That's Naruto huh...? How sure are you that he won't fail?" Obito said.

"Actually... he very well actually may fail too of course" Kakashi said.
