Storming Through My Heart

The first clap made you jump. The second made you whimper, the third made you tear up. The fourth, well by the forth you were already in his arms, in his bed, snuggled into the warmth of his body as that clap made you jump, your body trembling at the sound, tears in your eyes and a hitch in your voice. Bellamy stroked your hair, shushing you, reassuring you with his deep but caring tones, words soothing over you like a blanket of calm.

"I've got you. Y/N, look at me." You glanced up into your best friends eyes, his smile brightening your mood, only slightly. You hated thunder. Maybe because it reminded you of bangs the Ark made on occasion, making you worry that you were going to come crashing down to Earth. Or maybe it reminded you of people shouting. You hated people shouting, it was scary. But right now you felt safe. You had been by Bellamy's side since the start, as soon as you had landed. To be fair, he came to you.

You sat, intrigued, looking at the sky, the sky that you used to be a part of, the stars your neighbours. But now it had all changed, earthy soil beneath your feet, the smell of pine intoxicating, green at every corner. You'd learnt that green was your favourite colour, it reminded you of life.

You were drawn out of your thoughts by a boy sitting next to you, hair ruffled and shaggy, wearing no top. At all. You couldn't help the cock of your eyebrow and the roll of your eyes, you weren't blinded by his looks. So instead you just asked.

"Can I help you?" It escaped your lips with more hostility than you meant but you didn't take it back and waited for an answer.

He barked with a laugh and adjusted himself so you got an even clearer view of his abs.

"I'm Bellamy. Bellamy Blake." He introduced, outstretching his hand in greeting. You shook it and a smirk worked its way to your face, biting the inside of your lip to stop the splitting smile.

"I know who you are." You chuckled. "Rebel King? Really? Whatever the hell we want? What a motto." He feigned hurt, laughing at the roll of your eyes and the drawl of your tone.

"Well I'm sorry, I'm just trying to introduce myself. And you are?"

You grinned.

"Y/N. Y/N Y/L/N."

Since then you two had been inseparable, being asked if you were dating on the daily. Sure, you had a thing for him. A tiny one. But it was one sided and you'd take all that you could get.

You were brought back to the present by a loud bang, unable to help the whimper that fell from your lips. His arms constricted tighter.

"Try and sleep Y/N. I've got you, I won't let anything happen"

You just nodded into his chest, letting your eyes flicker shut, the steady rise and fall of his breath lulling you to sleep like the rocking of a cradle. Just as you felt the drop out of consciousness you felt his lips touch your forehead. Your heart jumped and you smiled, feeling the heat light up your cheeks.

You dreamt of him. What you hoped could be. You could feel the graze of his lips against yours and his eyes melting into yours, his smile making butterflies flutter within you and your heart pulse.

You awoke not long after, the storm not quietening, loud rumbles still making you bury yourself into the boy. When your eyes flickered open you caught him staring, his brown eyes widening before looking shyly away.

You smirked and croaked.

"Hi." He turned back to look at you and visibly swallowed, your attention not failing to notice his gaze flicker to your lips.

"Hey" He murmured back. It was with the drag of his words and the bags under his eyes that made you wince.

"Did you get any sleep?" You asked, watching as he failed to answer.

"Bell..." You whispered softly. "You should've tried to sleep."

He shook his head.

"I know how scared you get. I wanted to be here when you woke up." He looked at you and seemed to work up his courage before he leant forward and didn't stop till his lips connected with your own and you felt the stars explode all over you, tingling and sparking like everything you'd imagined.

"I like you." He mumbled.

Still flabbergasted and hardly aware of your surroundings you smiled lopsided.

"You don't say? I like you too."
