They'd messed you up. That much you knew. To sit and watch as your friends were drilled, one by one, until they died apparently did something to a person because you hadn't been the same since. You could still hear their screams, the begging, the crying, the whimpering. It never seemed to leave your head, no matter how many times you had tried to shake it or cried yourself to sleep.
When Bellamy Blake came up to you about a month after the whole thing, it's an understatement to say you were surprised as well as hesitant. A month after the death of everyone in the Mountain. A month after the death of many friends. A month after Clarke left. It was still a bit too much for you.
You were used to sitting on your own, you kind of preferred it that way recently. Listening to the wind in the trees or the distant chatter of everyone else, not making conversation with Bellamy Blake.
"It's Y/N, right?" he spoke softly as he sat next to you, you gave him a glance and nodded slightly, shuffling a little bit under his gaze. You flinched when he came too close and he sighed and moved slightly further away giving you some space.
"Weren't you the one who fell out of the tree after trying to prove you could climb?" His voice was gentle and tainted with humour and you found a small smile tugging at the corner of your mouth. You felt yourself nod and look at him. You always had a bit of a crush on Bellamy. You figured everyone did. Even just a tiny one.
"Y/N. I know it's hard after everything thats happened but everyone misses the old you. You knew everyone and believe it or not, everyone knew you. Which is why we're worried about you." You were surprised to hear genuine sadness and begging in his tone and you sighed.
"I can't. I can't get better, it's just too much." You whimpered, flinching again when Bellamy tried to place his hand on yours.
"I'm going to sit with you. And talk to you everyday at some point. I want you to know I'm here for you, okay?" And with that he got up and left, leaving you wondering why he was wasting his time.
___
But, Bellamy was true to his word. The two of you would talk every day and with each day the conversation would get longer and more light hearted. You smiled and laughed and Bellamy did too, you both becoming close friends who found comfort in each other.
It continued like this until one day you sighed and looked at Bellamy.
"I bet you I can climb that tree." You chanted, pointing to a tree closest to you. Bellamy laughed, knowing that you were doing it to be funny but he took it on.
"Oh yeah? Without falling this time?" He called after you, considering you were already walking towards the trunk, smiling over your shoulder.
___
You ended up climbing it with ease, Bellamy watching nervously from below. You watched him with a playful smirk and pretended to jolt, and his eyes went wide and he immediately got ready to catch you before scowling.
"Not funny." He growled, as you made your way down the tree. His arms were folded and he was looking away from you. Grinning you went over and pouted at him.
"Bell, I'm sorry." You whined pulling at his arm playfully. He shook his head and you moved so you were looking into his eyes. He smiled down softly at you and you took a chance, leaning forward and kissing him hard. You felt your heart leap when he moved against you and returned the kiss. Pulling away you swallowed the lump in your throat and grinned.
"I think old me is back Bell, don't you?"
