For you, leading your people was the most important thing in your life. You cared for them deeply and it wasn't a duty for you, it was a desire. All your life has been spent caring for them. After all, you aretheir Commander. But ever since the Skypeople came back down from Space, it had become harder and harder to choose the right path. Even more so when all the adults started taking charge. Your people who were once apart of the Skypeople, were beginning to be outcasted and feared. Having them at the root of discrimination wasn't easy, but having Bellamy fall in love with you was even harder because you loved him too. Terrible things began happening. Bellamy was confused about what side he was on and who to protect. And with each decision he made against your people, he broke your heart over and over again. It seemed like there was no getting through to him but you have to try at least one more time.
"Bellamy!" You call from afar, receiving looks from skypeople. You know they want you out of their camp but you have business to attend to. He turns around, knowing by the sound of your voice that this isn't going to be a conversation he wants to have.
You both walk up to each other and his eyes barely show any of the emotions he once admitted to having. "Y/N, you know we're not supposed to talk in public." He whispers, his brown eyes glancing at the people around him as they begin to whisper.
"Why? Because they'll treat you like an outcast? I wonder what that feels like." You state, loud enough for people to be able to hear you defying their leader. You've never spoken to Bell like this and he's slightly taken aback by your angry tone.
"I know you're mad, I-"
"You have no idea." You interrupt him, your voice louder than he expected. He glances around once more before his hand latches onto your arm and he leads you away from the entrance of Arkadia to a more quiet area where no one can see you. "Why here?" You ask as he lets go of your hand, "You going to kill me?"
"Don't." Is all he says, his voice pained and hurt, "You know I love you."
"Just not my people." You reply harshly. For once you don't say that you love him back and he feels his chest tighten. What if he's losing you? He can't bear the thought. "Definitely not Lincoln."
"That isn't my choice." He justifies himself, crossing his arms, "Pike's the one that wants him dead."
"You don't seem to have a problem with killing my people though, do you?" You tilt your head to the side as you think about all 300 lives that you lost when Bellamy and his people attacked the warriors that you sent to protect them, "You're letting him control you, Bellamy. Pike's not a good person, he's using you. He has you killing innocent people - my people. That's not who you are."
"You're wrong." He states simply and you frown.
"No. I'm not. I know you, Bell." You tell him, "You're better than this."
He shakes his head, "This is who I've always been. You've just been too blind to see it.. because you love me."
"I don't know if that's true anymore." You look down, your chest rising and falling rapidly. Bellamy just looks at you sadly but then his sadness is replaced by anger.
"You say you know me and that might be true," He begins again, "But I know you too. And I know your people." His eyebrows are furrowed and his arms are crossed, "They're savages. They always have been."
Hearing his words in your head, you feel tears brim your eyes. You can't believe he actually thinks this about you, "You don't mean that." You mumble, looking down. You're not talking to Bellamy as much as you're talking to yourself, trying to convince yourself that Bellamy isn't really like this, that he can still be saved. But you're not so sure he can be. "You can't." You mutter. Tears begin to stream down your cheeks as you look at him, your eyes scanning his face for the real him - the Bellamy Blake you fell in love with. But he isn't there anymore.
"There's nothing I can do." He tells you, his eyes avoiding yours. He can't stand to see you cry.
"No!" You shout, "Please, Bellamy, stop this. You're breaking my heart." Your voice shakes as you swallow the lump in your throat, wiping tears from your eyes.
"I can't." He whispers to you, his eyes beginning to look glossy as he watches you, "I can't." He repeats. You inhale shakily, biting your lip.
"You can't or you won't?" You question him, before stepping away. You look at him but he doesn't say anything to you, he just gives you a look before he walks past you. Without a word he's gone, leaving you alone with your thoughts. You know just what to do.
Lincoln stands with his hands cuffed and chained inhumanly. Pike stands before him and there are guards all around, making a circle around him. You stand on the side, watching on as you hide from Pike's view. As he raises the gun aimed at Lincoln's head, your breath catches in your throat, "Stop!" You yell just before Pike pulls the trigger. They turn to you as you step away from your hiding spot. Unknown to you, Bellamy watches you with wide eyes filled with panic. He's watching the scene unfold from afar with nerves plaguing his chest.
"What do you think you're doing here?" One of the guards asks, cocking her gun at holding it as you. You swallow the lump in your throat.
"I'm taking his place." You tell Pike but you keep your eyes on Lincoln.
"You can't." Lincoln shakes his head, breaking his silence, "You're our Commander."
"You'll find another. Someone who will lead you better than I have. You deserve that. Now get up." Lincoln does as he's told and you walk to where he was kneeling.
"We'll never have another leader like you." Lincoln stretches his hand out and you hold his as a sign of goodbye, "I love you, little one." He tells you, sweetly and you smile. You and Lincoln have always been close, you two love each other like you're siblings.
"I love you too, Link." You smile at him before he pulls you in for one last hug. Guards pull him away roughly and your attention is back on Pike.
"I can't free your people." Pike tells you, "But I can promise they'll be cared for."
"You're a liar." You tell him, trying to ignore the end of guns that are pointed at you, "And I hope you rot in hell."
"Do you really want those to be your last words?" He asks, raising an eyebrow at you patronizingly. You nod, not noticing the man who runs from the bushes.
"Y/N!" He yells loudly, his chest heaving as he watches you with wide eyes. Pike orders guards to hold Bellamy back, "Stop!" He thrashes against them roughly, pushing them over as he runs to you, "Get up." He orders you, looking at how you're kneeling, waiting to be killed.
"I have to do this." You tell him as guards rush up to him, prepared to hold him back. He barely has any words even though there's so much he wants to say, so you speak for him as he's being pulled away, "I forgive you." You look at him one last time before closing your eyes, his face is the last you see before you hear the loud shot. With rain sprinkling onto your face peacefully, you fall to the ground.
