The woods were alive with light, sun dancing from leaf to leaf as the day shone. The camp of the 100 quiet as they relaxed, a break much needed. Bellamy and Clarke stood just outside the Dropship, their eyes roaming dutifully. Bellamy yawned as the camp stayed quiet, his brown eyes flickering from person to person to person to...

"Clarke, who's that?" Bellamy asked, pointing to Y/N from across the camp, captivated by you as you helped carry some firewood for that night's bonfire. Clarke smirked at the boy, his eyes never leaving you.

"Uhh, that's Y/N. She's uhh..." The blonde trailed off and bit her lip, causing Bellamy to cock his head, and look questioning at her.

"What? Clarke?" He pressed, still glancing to you occasionally, a hint of a smile tainting his lips.

"She's deaf. It's been hard for her down here." Clarke admitted, smiling softly at you, having moved to rest against a tree, eyes bright, optimistic. You were like the sun down here to people who knew you.

"I haven't seen her before, I'd definitely remember if I did." His voice soft, nearly as soft as the blondes smile that he was on the receiving end of.

"Yeah well, she's a bit shy but she's gorgeous, inside and out."

Bellamy just nodded and grinned.

So he made the decision to practice sign language. For days on end, he was determined. By chance he had found a book in the back of the Dropship on languages and how to learn them, and he'd practically jumped for joy.

Monty helped him with it too, the boy never seeing their leader so excited before. Bellamy had caught your eye every once in a while, your small, shy smile causing him to beam and his heart skip. After every glance at you he'd work harder and harder, you made him nervous, and you hadn't even had a conversation.

____

So, after a few weeks of daring, quick looks and a few flirtatious winks Bellamy walked up to you under the pale night sky, sitting beside you on the log in front of the glowing firelight.

His hands were shaking as he brought them from his lap so they were visible. Your gaze flicked to him as he signed.

You're very beautiful.

You blushed and signed in return.

You're very kind, and handsome.

His cheeks tinted and you smiled tucking a strand of hair behind your ear as his hands twisted nervously some more, the butterflies in your stomach fluttering.

So, did you know sign language before or?

You asked, continuing the conversation. You were surprised to see his cheeks tinge darker and he shrugged.

I learnt so I'd be able to talk to you.

The confession made your heart jump and your eyes light up and he avoided your gaze, rubbing the back of his neck.

That's really sweet Bellamy

He shrugged again before signing

I wanted to talk to you

Man, this boy could make you heat up. Your face flushed, fidgeting as he looked up at you, studying your face, as though he was preparing to paint it. He smirked as he stood, holding out a hand, pausing, realising he needed his hands to ask;

Come with me, maybe?

You nodded, grinning, taking ahold of his hand, his firm grip hoisting you up, nearly sending you tumbling into him. You didn't need to hear him to know he was laughing, his eyes crinkled as he steadied you.

He linked your arms where you walked away from the group of others to a quieter part of camp where you spoke of home and your ground adventures so far.

I really like you Bellamy

He blushed and signed back, but, he still needed some practice.

I really same to you too Y/N

He frowned as you laughed.

That was wrong, wasn't it?

You nodded.

But, you're learning. Can I teach you? It means more time together.

He nodded eagerly in reply.

Sounds like a great idea to me
