AN - I start uni next week ahhhh! I hope you enjoy this imagine. This made me smile and I hope this imagine will make you smile too.

Winter.

It was far too cold for the limited amount of clothing she had flung onto her tiresome frame in such short notice... Far too cold to really function at all, and by that point she wanted nothing more than to climb right back onto her cot in her own damn tent, under the layers of shambled rags and pull them tightly to her aching body. Not to be stumbling around a dark forest with a gun strapped to one of her thighs and a knife to the other, behind a certain brute in a late hunt that Clarke deemed "Completely needed if we were to survive winter with the food depleting drastically."

Yet, there she was, with an oversize ripped jacket flung awkwardly around her upper half that Bellamy had haphazardly thrown at her with a grumble and trousers that clung uncomfortably to her legs that were in dire need of shaving, but somehow, with the consistency of trouble the universe seeming deemed necessary to bombard them with, self-care and person preference just did not seem to be the number one issue on her list of pressing matters (that only appeared to increase now everyone had deemed her 'leader material').

She'd never really wanted to lead anyone, no one truly did, she did not want the harsh and almost dictatorship like responsibility of making sure so many people survived from weathering, attacks, starvation, thirst and every other threat that seemed to be hurtled their way. Selfish as it may have sounded, something she was not often, but Y/n did not want the blood of others to stain her now rough skin anymore than it had done over the past couple of torturous months, she just wanted to be a that naive silly teenager living with her mother and father and doing idiotic things her age should have done: develop childish crushes on various boys her age, finish her homework after days of unneeded procrastination, being a rebellious kid against her parents because that what she should have been doing... Not forced by those sworn to protect their people, to fight for her own plus so many other's survival because one little mistake she had made.

It was too cold on the ground, too difficult, too much for her to cope some days. But, unlike the stress she experienced on the Ark (mainly minimal in comparison, like when did she need her coursework finalized and if her then boyfriend would message her back), she could not just become oblivious to it or she would not survive.

"Don't you think we are straying a little too far?" She had asked innocently after what felt like a life time of forced silence.

Bellamy would never truly, one hundred percent acknowledge her help no matter what she did. Well not unless it was yet another reason to proclaim her a failure, almost as if she was beneath him or irrelevant in the grand scheme of things; when they had first reached the ground she had tried to make peace with the curly brunette, constantly attempted to calm any argument that had started between Clarke and himself, the level headed one of the three that saw both of their sides and attempted to create some form of compromise that would better fit their people's needs. But months of trying, months of aiding him with winning over Clarke's respect, it still appeared as if she was nothing more than a woman he had walked past in one of the bustling halls upon the ark.

"We should head back or we will easily be subjected to an attack from the Grounders, the others will have foraged a few things at least." She attempted once again to gain his attention, but the male was persistent that they were to bring something back to camp.

"Are you evening listening to me?" Y/n barked as she trudged on behind him whilst the man of the hour continued to wonder off into the night with nothing but a torch to light the way, her tone was sharper with her annoyance evident with each word that passed her lips. "Or are you going to continue to be ignorant to the fact I am actually here, again?"
