Sorry I haven't been able to update lately. I'm trying to get my life sorted for next year! (University) Been planning my courses for next year and it's so damn stressful. Anyways I hope you enjoy this piece that I absolutely love. Have a great day.

Raven followed the young girl into her small room, watching her jump into her cot excitedly. She couldn't help but grin at the child, knowing she probably wouldn't sleep due to all the excitement for tomorrow.

"Come on, Nova. You don't want daddy to get mad at you!" She playfully scolded the girl, her lips pressing into a tight line and she nodded her head frantically at Raven.

Bellamy watched in the shadows of the doorframe, a weak smile tugging on his lips as he watched his closest friend settle his young daughter. He was extremely grateful when Raven had offered to take her to bed, but as Bellamy stood by and watched, he couldn't help but ache at the sight.

Tomorrow, Nova would turn five years old, which would mark four years and six months since they'd been back in space. Since they'd left her.

Bellamy was so caught in his thoughts, he hadn't noticed that Raven was already wandering out of Nova's room and toward him. Just as they were about to leave, Nova's soft voice stopped them.

"Raven, are you my mommy?"

That was it. The question both Bellamy and Raven had been dreading since the moment they returned to space. They stopped dead in their tracks, their wide eyes meeting before they hastily span around.

Nova was sitting cozily in her bed, a small teddy in her hands as she stared up at the two adults. Raven blubbered silently while Bellamy stood in shock. They knew this would happen. They knew she'd ask sooner or later, it was just a matter of time.

"Uh, no. Sweetie... I'm not your mommy." Raven stuttered, her head whipping round to Bellamy but he stood still, staring at his young daughter. Nova faced her dad with hopeful eyes, her eyebrows furrowed before she spoke again.

"Daddy, do I have a mommy?" Her voice was sleepy, a sweet melody to Bell's ears, but his heart ached at her question. He swallowed back the lump in his throat, his eyes glossing over with fresh tears and he slowly approached his daughter.

Sitting at the side of her bed, Nova sat up beneath her blankets, holding her teddy - Mr. Snuggles - close in her lap. "Of- of course you have a mommy." Bellamy choked out, watching as Nova's eyes lit up in excitement and Raven sat on the other side of her bed.

Nova suddenly frowned. "Well then... wh- where is she? Didn't she like me?" Nova's words sent knives through her fathers heart, his stomach dropping at her words and he was quick to correct her.

Bellamy grabbed Nova's small hands in his large ones, urging her to look at him. "Your mommy loved you more than anything in the entire universe." Bellamy's voice was full of sincerity and a serious tone.

Nova wasn't used to this side of her father, he was usually so playful with her, she didn't know what this time meant. "But... but if she loves me, where is she?" Bellamy closed his eyes for a moment, debating whether he should tell the young child the truth.

Raven remained quiet, not wanting to explain something Bellamy didn't want his daughter to know. "She's on the ground." Nova gasped at her fathers words, her eyes wide and full of both fear and excitement.

She'd only ever heard stories of the ground, and how beautiful and dangerous it could be. "Mommy's on the ground!? How!?" The young child yelped, all sleep evacuating her body and she jolted in her bed.

Raven grabbed her before she could sprint off, attempting to calm her excitement until Bellamy began to explain.

"Your mommy, is a hero. She stayed on the ground so we could come up to space and be safe." Bellamy explained, a sad smile tugging on his lips at the facts he told her.

Nova frowned, eyes frantic as she searched between Bellamy and Raven. "Is mommy safe? She's not in trouble is she? What- what about the ground people. Didn't they want to hurt you all?" Raven sighed, already knowing where those ideas came from.

A few months ago, she'd caught a bunch of teenagers telling Nova stories about their time on the ground and their horrific experiences with the grounders. It was enough to give her nightmares for weeks.

Bellamy quickly soothed her worries. "Oh no, shh. Are you kidding? Mommy is extremely safe. She's the Queen of the ground, no one messes with mommy." He assured her, and every word was true.

You'd made an alliance with the other grounders, becoming somewhat of a leader. You'd gained all respect from many different clans when you stayed on the ground so your daughter could take your place in space.

You kept as many people safe on the ground as you could, no matter their clan — even before Praimfaya hit.

"Queen!? My mommy's is a Queen!?" Nova squealed in delight, clapping her hands together excitedly and Raven watched as the girl laughed in happiness.

Bellamy smiled. "She sure is. And you- you're a princess. The princess of the ground, the first child of the Sky People to be born on Earth." Bellamy told her with a grin, her eyes widening even more and she let out a small scream.

"I'm a princess! Daddy! Daddy! That makes you the King!" Nova yelled in realization, a rose hue coating over Bellamy's cheeks at her statement and Raven laughed.

"Hell yeah, he's the King!" Raven encouraged, offering a warm and happy smile to her friend and he nodded shyly at her. Nova sighed happily, snuggling back into her bed as she stared up at the metal ceiling with a grin.

Raven smiled softly. "I'll be in my room if you need me." She whispered to Bellamy. He didn't take his eyes off his daughter, but nodded anyway, thankful she was giving him so time alone with her.

It wasn't until Raven left the room, that Nova sat up again. "Did you love mommy?" Bellamy's heart skipped a beat, a sad smile tugging on his lips and he sat up. Shifting along, Nova moved over so her father could crawl into her small bed with her, wrapping her arms around her and she lay her head on his chest.

"I loved mommy more than anything." He whispered to her as he played with her hair, just as he used to with you. Nova nodded. "What did she look like?" Nova asked quietly, her fingers playing with her own long hair and Bellamy smiled to himself.

"She was beautiful. She still is, I'm sure of it. She had this gorgeous Y/H/C hair, just like yours... and these innocent Y/E/C eyes that held so much love and wisdom. She was incredible. Her skin was a little darker than yours, and oh so soft. Her smile could make even the darkest days better. Y/N was the love of my life." He finally finished with a weak smile, tears welling in his eyes.

"Y/N? That's so pretty! Is that her name?" Nova hummed and Bellamy nodded. "Yeah. When we first met, I used to call her princess, and she hated it. She hated me too. But then I saved her life and she fell madly in love with me." Bellamy teased, knowing full well that if you were there'd, you'd object to his side.

"You're her hero!"

"She's my hero. She's everyone's hero."
