Cold Heart

Sitting quietly, you observe your heavenly surroundings. You watch the lake alone as the air creates ripples on the waters blue skin. The air is sweet, making you feel at ease as you relax in the peaceful hum of nature. But like usual, something is there to disturb that peace. Bellamy Blake sits down beside you, his eyes glossing over your (Dark/Light/Tan) skin.

"Avoiding me?" He quizzes half-heartedly. You shake your head, but he can see through your lies. Ever since Bellamy told you he had feelings for you, you began shutting him out. "We both know that's not true."

"I don't know how to... act around you anymore." You admit. It's not that you didn't cherish what you had with him (whatever that was). It's just that in the world you live in now, something bad was bound to happen. You didn't want to lose him, so you never gave yourself the chance to. In your head, it was the perfect plan.

Bell sighs, his eyes tracing the cold features of your face, "I'm still the same person, Y/N. And that means you can talk to me."

"I can't without you expecting something from me." You reply, not looking at him once.

Bellamy furrows his eyebrows, "I expect nothing from you. I know who you are."

"What do you mean?"

"You think your weakness is loving someone," He advises, leaning back on his palms as he looks at you. "But it isn't."

You can't help but turn to him, intrigued. "Then what is my weakness?"

"Death." He states hesitantly, as if saying it out loud will anger you. You swallow the lump in your throat, wondering how he knew so much without you ever having to tell him anything. "See, no matter what your heart tells you," He begins, placing a finger on your upper chest. Your breath hitches in your throat when he places his hand on the side of your face. His finger taps your temple, "You listen to your brain." He adds, pulling back and smirking slightly when he sees how you're flustered.

"Is that always such a bad thing?"

Bell shrugs slightly, "When you start thinking it's bad to love someone, then yes." You can't help but feel a sudden sadness wash over you. Watching Bellamy, you notice how your heart flutters.

"Why are you telling me all this?" You frown, turning away from him, "As if it's going to fix me."

"I didn't mean it like that." Bellamy replies gruffly, his voice tinged with annoyance. You sigh, feeling the fresh air breeze past you and calming you down. You find yourself thinking of Clarke and Finn, Octavia and Atom - their love all ended in tragedy.

"In the long run, if I listen to my head I won't get hurt. Think of how many people have died since we landed." Looking at a butterfly floating above the waters edge, you continue, "If you live distancing yourself, you're never going to have to feel the pain that comes with losing someone you love."

"That's not living." He says, his voice slightly riled.

Sighing, you turn to him and lean slightly forward, "Well, what is?"

He pauses, noticing how beautiful you are from close up before he replies, "This." Inching forward quickly, his lips attach themselves to yours. You melt into the kiss, your lips feeling like they've always belonged with Bellamy's.
