chapter five

The seminar was educative, I took notes the whole time While Rita kept chatting with J-bee. Michael looked like he was listening and Micah kept staring at girls. Funny guy.
Steven was something else, he was listening to music from his phone, he had his earpiece to his ear.
I don't get it if he thinks the seminar is so unimportant, then why is he even here. After all kids like them don't need worry about books, cos I know his dad has cash that could sustain even  the fifth generation.

After the seminar we went out for a break and I was glad because my stomach had started rumbling.

"Beauty and brains"

I turned and realized Steven was beside me and he was pointing to the book I had in my hands.
I  just huffed not knowing what to say because I didn't know if what he said was directed as a comment or question.

"You don't talk much or is it me that you don't like talking to? He asked

And I realized I had been kind of avoiding conversation with him.

"Not really" I replied

"Oh I see'

two girls from my school called out to me, but their eyes were definitely on the hot guy beside me. Well I don't blame them, he was a  sight to behold.

I waved back

" your friends? Asked Steven

"No........pals actually"

"Guys we have like three hours break, then its time for sport" Micah said joining us.

"And we'll have to eat during the break" I said

"What do you guys wanna do?"  Micah asked

"I'll take a nap after I've eaten " I replied

"Lazy bones" Micah said
Hey guys" Rita said as she joined us with J-bee. She held two plastic bags.

"What do you have there? I asked

"Nuclear bomb"

"For your mind, let me see what's inside" I said as I took a step closer.

"Its food, one for me and one for you" she said

"Oh that's so sweet of you"

"Where's mine? Micah asked

"Oops there's enough just for two" she replied

"We'll eat later" J-bee told him

"Since Rita has got me lunch, I'll go take a nap" I said
Rita how about you? I asked

"She'll be with me, we've got something to discuss" J-bee as he puts his hands on her shoulders and kiss her on the cheek.

I felt a little pain seeing them so happy and in love with each other, why cant I have that.
This could be us Sam.

"Sarah what's wrong? I heard Micah  say.

"Nothing'

"You sure?

"Yes' I replied

"You had this sad look on your face" he insisted

"I'm fine" I snapped

"Woo easy on me, '

"Am Sorry , I should get going" I said

"So soon? Steven asked

I just nodded, I didn't know why but I feel like avoiding him, he just kept staring at me like he was studying me or something.

"I'll see you guys later" I said as I turn to go.
