chapter fifteen

I was so eager to go to school today because Rita told me she had some latest gist to tell me.
I had laughed and told her it was too early for that, school just resumed yesterday.
'stay there things are happening' she had said in her gossip voice.
I dressed quickly and was even the first person to eat breakfast, I was so curious to hear what Rita had to say. On our way to school I was so jumpy that my uncle Hope had asked me what all the excitement was all about. I said nothing but the look he gave me showed he didn't believe me.

" new boyfriend? He asked.
I just laughed and shook my head.
Hope was in the university and he was good looking but he was never into girls. Not a bit, I once thought he was gay but he had convinced me he was not. He was in his early 20's and is yet to have a girlfriend. His reasons was unknown to me,  it seems he's got an issue with ladies.

When we got to school I hurriedly went in to look for Rita, I stumbled upon a girl at the gate and almost dropped my bag.
" sorry " I mumbled

" oh Sarah ! The girl called.
" how are you ?

She was my class mate but she was in B class.
" hi, am fine " I said to her.

" that's good. I wanted to ask you something " she said.

" go on " I say and crossed my arms.

" what happened between you and Sam ? She asked.

I raised my eyebrow at her
" you mean......"

" I mean.....I saw him with Vicky yesterday, and I didn't see you guys together " she said pretending to look hurt.

"We broke up ! I snapped and turn quickly and left her staring after me like she's seen a ghost.
' bitch' I thought, she knew exactly what had happened. She just wants to hear what I had to say. She was Vicky's friend. she knew.....

I found Rita in the school ground with the guys, like all of them including Steven and Jason. I was disappointed because I know there's no way Rita was telling me that gossip in front of them, it had to wait.

" good morning guys " I greeted when I reached them.

J-bee was the first to answer. " good morning pretty " he said giving me a side hug.

They all mumbled good morning to me too and Michael insists I give him a hug, I hugged him anyway.

" why are you in such a haste? Micah asked.

" I'm not " I denied

" you look good in your school uniform " Steven complimented.

" awwwn  thanks " I said blushing a little.
" why didn't you attend classes yesterday? I asked.

" we were tired and we didn't wear the uniform , so we were told to start today. " he replied.

" ok. You guys look good too " I said referring to him and Jason.

" thanks " he said smiling.

" Sarah I didn't realize I miss you this much  " Jason said.
" haven't seen you since the camp ended "

" wow its nice to know that am missed " I said smiling.

" good to know I'm not missed " Rita murmured.

"Oh same goes to you too Rita " he said laughing.
" and we didn't have your contacts, we would have called or visit "

" yes. " Steven agreed.
" where's your phone ? He asked.

" students are not allowed to use phones during school hours " Rita told him.

Jason raised his eyebrows surprisingly.
" you guys are so law abiding "
