chapter fourty three

Sarah's POV

I held my jacket tightly to myself as I lean on the wall outside my house, the wind was blowing and there was no sign of the sun which means the harmattan was really kicking in. I liked the weather but then it reminded me I'll have to use more oil on my body and lips as well, if I don't want to look like a ghost. I gazed towards J-bee's house, I haven't seen him since the holiday started few days ago and that is because I had been indoors all the time. I had stayed glued to my phone, always online. I had hoped Steven will send me a message but then he never did, I guessed he was really mad. I talked to Jason a few times but then never summoned up the courage to ask him about Steven, but I found out they both will be spending the holidays here.
I really missed him but then I know he was mad at me, I raised my head at the sound of my name and turned to see Rita and her brother strolling towards me.

" hey " I said to them as I went to hug Rita

" hello Sarah " Jibrin said.

" babe I miss you oo " Rita said hugging me tightly.

" same here sweetheart " I said smiling.
" how have you been?

" good. Hope you've start preparing for Christmas " she said

" hmmmmm not really, my mum is taking care of that, everyone in the house is always busy that I feel like I'm left out "

" you ain't see nothing yet "

" you didn't tell me you're coming with Jibrin "

" yea because I don't want you to get overexcited. I know you "

I frowned. " what's wrong with that "

" nothing. So are we going in? She turned to ask her brother.

" of course " I said

" No. Let's just stroll around " Jibrin said.

" why?

" its a nice weather and I feel more comfortable talking when walking "

" hmmm talking? About what? I asked curiously.

" I've got news about Steven Sarah " Jibrin said.

" ok let's go " I said taking the lead.

" Jibrin say it, I can't wait to hear it " Rita begged.

" he didn't tell you? I asked.

" Nah. He wouldn't "

" okay girls listen up, I did some digging and found out some things. Mostly about Alex, I found out from guys that hang out at Sobi that he is indeed dangerous cos he got big people watching his back. He usually spends most of his holidays there and keeps to himself mostly, but the funny thing is that most say he wasn't the 'ladies type' that he wasn't into girls. "

" only his girlfriend? I asked.

" No. of all the people I asked no one seems to know of any girlfriend. "

" then that means Sam lied to me? I asked

" yes. and I heard Sam and Alex have been cat and dog for more two years now "

" that means even before you guys started dating " Rita said, " does that mean Sam just wants you to have doubt's about Steven and stay away "

" I guess so " Jibrin said

" but why? I asked, I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

" because he is jealous " Rita stated.

" I didn't hear good stories about Alex, but then I didn't hear good stories about Sam either " Jibrin said
" Sarah whatever it is that is between Alex and Sam, I think it's big. And I don't think Sam is innocent "
