chapter twenty three

Sarah's POV

After sleeping for a while, we decided to go out. I got dressed and Rita freshened up and did her make up, we decided to go to the park but Rita insisted we stop at mega D to get ice cream.
We got into a taxi and dropped at mega D, the place was lively and filled as usual, words was mega D sold the best ice cream in town. Mega Delight was very familiar to me because we use to have lunch here every Sunday with my family, but that tradition was now slowly fading away. This Lunches was one of the best times I had with my dad because he was always busy due to his nature of work, but then recently dad took a leadership position in church and has to stay back most Sundays so mum will just drive us home and we'll have lunch there.

Rita got the ice cream while I waited for her at a table close to the door, I saw the sales guy flirting with her and I smiled and shook my head. Later she came smiling,

" you took too long " I said

" yea cos the sales guy thinks I'm pretty "

" yea I saw he was flirting with you "

" don't mind him. Let's go "

We went out and was about to leave when we saw a classmate across the street, she waved at us happily and motioned us to come over, we crossed the road to her side.

" hey Rose " we both said when we reached her side.

" hy girls, nice seeing you. Come sit " she said leading us into the wine shop she was

" my uncle's " she replied.
" I hang out here when am not busy and when am bored "

"Wow that's good " Rita said as we got in, we greeted her uncle and sat on one of the tables.

" where are you going?

" we wanted to go to the park and just chill " I said

" with our ice cream " Rita adds.

" cool, you should chill here with me na "

I smiled " sure "
" so how's your weekend going " I asked.

" its moving fine and steady "

We talked for a while, about school and many other things and she jisted us about the new girl who has a crush on Steven. Then she brought shocking news,
" girls do you know there's something fishy going on and if it comes out its going to cause a big boom! "

" really what? I asked curiously.

" its about your cousin Michael "

" what about mike?

" he's cheating on Annie with Wama " she said swiftly.

" what !!! We both chorused.

She just shrugged.

" but I talked to him the other day and he said there was nothing.

" well they've been discreet "

" I hope this is not base on what happened at the students conference during the long vacation right? Rita asked.

" no! Have I ever given you fake news ? She winked.
And it was true, Rose was very updated on almost all school happenings and her news were always true.

" this is really bad " Rita said.

" yea for Annie, when she finds out " I agreed. " but why would Michael do that, why cheat on her with someone she knows. Her classmate. "

" you know Wama is irresistible " Rose said quietly.
" and by the way I always thought Mike and Annie were no match for each other "
