chapter fifty

Steven's POV

I took a sip of my drink before Sarah snatch it from me,
" I'm thirsty " she said
We were tired from dancing and sat down to take some air, Jason, Micah, Rita and J-bee came to join us too. We talked for a while.
The party turn out better than I expected, it was not wild just cool. I was surprised my friends from Concordia came, it showed they have accepted the fact that I can't go to Sobi anymore and I have changed.
These days things have been cool, even at home. My dad has been around lately, my mum and my sisters were here to celebrate the holiday with me too. Even though my mum has been keeping an extra eye on me, she would check on up me all the time. I was grateful though.

" why are you so moody these days Michael? Rita asked.

" nop I'm not " he denied

" oh don't even start, everybody can see that something is bothering you " she continued

" Nothing " he lied

" well if you don't want to share its fine " she said dropping the subject.

" Rita that's not it, you wouldn't understand even if I tell you " he said taking a sip of his drink.

" you're my friend, I just want you to be happy. And whatever it is maybe we can help "

" Yes. We will be glad to help " Sarah joined.

" oh I don't need your help, I think you've done enough already " he said to sarah and dropped his drink on the table letting it make a sound.

I placed my hand on Sarah's arm to calm her, Rita eyes went from Michael to Sarah then to me and Jason " is there something I don't know?

Everyone was silent.
" J-bee tell me. What is going on? She asked.
" Sarah?

" I don't know what he's talking about "
Sarah answered

" hell you don't, you think I don't know you spoke to Wama just before she decided to ..........." He paused and took a deep breath.
" I know you think you were doing the right thing but then you shouldn't have gotten involve in something you don't understand "

" she told me everything " Sarah defended

" did she?

" wait wait! What are you guys talking about? Wama? Rita asked.
She was actually the only one in the dark.

" what we heard about Wama and Michael was true " Sarah told her
" so I confronted her and she told me she was going to handle everything "

" you shouldn't have " Jason said.

" he was cheating on his girlfriend! Sarah defended. " Annie is like my friend "

" and I am your cousin " Michael said.

" but you have a girlfriend already why would you be screwing someone else "

" I love her!
Michael blurted out " I love her Sarah, it was not just the sex "

Sarah was silent and didn't say anything she just sighed and puts her face in her hands.

" Wow this is more complicated than I thought " Rita said.

" Sarah it's not like I'm mad at you it's just that.............I am hurt. But your are not to blame sha....." Michael said getting up. " I need a drink " he said and left.

" poor Michael " Jason said
" it sucks "

" Yea. " J-bee agreed. " being in love with two girls at once. It makes you confuse "

" his girlfriend is such a nice person, why would he let himself give in to Wama in the first place " Rita said patting her legs " why would he cheat on Annie in the first place."

" really? Jason said smirking
" Jeez......you should see Wama, you'll be gay to be with her in the same room and not......."

" oh Jason please " Rita said and he just smiled.

" it happens Rita, " I tried to explain  " Michael wanted to stay away at first, he just couldn't.  Now Wama wouldn't even pick his call, she shut him out completely. He's hurt, now he just needs our support "

" and now his relationship with Annie is having a rift. He can't seem to get Wama out of his head." J-bee said.

" how did this happen? Rita whined

" now you all know why I double date " Micah puts in.

" your case is entirely different Micah " Jason told him.
" you can't even settle on your feelings, it seems to change every week. "

" stop exaggerating Jason, that's not true. Well my brother is confuse right now, he loves his girlfriend but he's now having feelings for another person. "

" she felt bad about it, she knows what she was doing was wrong " Sarah started. " she said she never meant for it to happen, she never told me Michael had feelings for her. She told me it was a mistake, that michael thought so too. She said it was her fault that she started it "

" nah. That's not true, He started it " I told Sarah
" at first he told himself he wanted to make her feel better, to ease her pain. But then later on he could not deny it any longer so he confessed to her that he was attracted to her, that he wanted to, not for her but for him as well."

" she told me she knows what to do..........." Sarah said.
" I am sorry I had no idea. I need to find Michael and apologize "

" No I think he needs some time alone " Jason said.

" what is he going to do now " Rita asked
" what will happen now "

I sighed. " it's all complicated, but then things will sort out itself with time " I said
I was the one to know that best, there was a time I was confused too. I wasn't sure how to move on, everything in my life seems to be falling apart and there was no remedy. I was lost in myself, it was a time I couldn't look my parents in the eye, a time I couldn't leave the house, I couldn't eat or sleep and every minute of the day was spent regretting and worrying about what might happen in the future.
But then it past, and I now realize time heals......
