Tsubaki x Reader

I saw this as a comic with Hana and I couldn't resist! (Tsubaki x Selena is OTP) also this is before all of the crap of Fates happens. FYI. 

You stood at the grave, just looking at it. Queen Mikoto, Yukimara, Oorochi, And Kaze were behind you. Mikoto had tears in her eyes and Oorochi was a sobbing mess in Yukimara's sleeve. Kaze was trying to be strong, just like you.

Your father, a retired retainer to the deceased King Sumeragi, gave his life protecting Queen Mikoto from an assassin who entered the castle. The culprit was jailed, but the cost... Your father gave his life and your mother died from illness a long time ago. 

Now it was you and you alone.

Kaze looked at you. No tears fell. The Queen was here, you coudlnt appear weak. She actually looked at you and you comforted the Queen.

Time Skip

You were sitting under a Sakura tree, enjoying the breeze. But you couldn't truly enjoy it because of the remorse you bottled up inside of you. But you said to yourself you would Be strong And sing no requiem. It's not what he would want. 

Father...

You see the retainer of Princess Sakura, Tsubaki, come into view. He had the ever perfect and headstrong look on his face. Without him having to explain, you already knew what he was here for.

He was ordered to help you out, of course. Help you grieve. Yes, it was sad, but now your father was with your mother. Isn't that a good thing?

"Hello Tsubaki."

"(Your name). Are you alright?"

"I'm fine, thanks for asking."

"But..."

"Tsubaki, I hardly need consolation. My father gave his life for the Queen to keep hers. An honorable sacrifice similar to Hana's father. But now Father can be with mother in heaven and everyhting is fine. There is no need for tears. My parents are finally reunited."

He blinked a short if he couldn't understand why you were aholy and how you knew of his intentions. You shook your head and smiled back the tears. 

"But you're alone."

Tsubaki was right. 

"It hardly matters, doesn't it? I'm just one of the castle staff, right? I'm not a retainer or anyone special. I have no significant value except my cause. Why do emotions matter when all I need is to do my job, protect the Hoshidan royal family?"

He blinked again. Tears wanted to pour as you accidentally admitted your inner most pessimistic beliefs about yourself.

"(Your name)..."

Okay, a tear went down your cheek. But that was it. One. You turned your face a bit so he couldn't see it.

"I can handle being alone, I figured I would end up lie, that anyway. Why not early? As long as Father and Mother are happy in heaven I won't mind."

Everything after that happened so fast. Tsubaki pulled you into anhug as you started to weep. You were alone, and it hurt. Father nature dMother could b e happy, but at the expense of your happiness. But as long as they were happy...

You cried into Tsubaki's chest and he stroked your hair back soothingly. The perfectionist had you wrapped in a tight embrace.

"Now, now. At times like this there isn't a need to be perfect."

I know it sucks and is rushed. I just typed this up after seeing the comic and getting inspired.
