Dipper ran as fast as he could from the cave. 'Nonononono!' He felt a sudden pain in his ankle and fell to the ground. Looking down, he saw what had caught him. A bear trap. It had teeth that dug into his flesh. His ankle had to be broken. He started to cry. He laid down on the cold ground. He couldn't move to release it because every time he tried, it caused his ankle to move and that brought about more pain. He heard the sound of barking draw closer. Soon, a chuckle sounded above him. "Oh, did you finally break?" Dipper whimpered and refused to see who had caught him. Another pair of footsteps sounded from behind the man. "Back off, brother. I'm the leader here." The oppressive feeling of someone towering above him quickly vanished. Then, he hurt the cult leader speak. "Get him out of there—gently!" Dipper cried out in pain as one of the cultists freed him from the trap. The cult leader pushed them aside and stopped down in front of him, making eye contact. Brown eyes met blue, and for a moment, no words were said. The leader took a finger and gently stroked the side of Dipper's face. "Star child, please don't run away from me again." Dipper whimpered. The cult leader sighed and moved behind him. A sharp intake of breath could be heard as the leader examined his wound. "One of you, I don't care who, carry him back to the abandoned shack. I need to retrieve something from my house." Dipper was soon carried away by a burly man with short, dusky-brown hair.
Dipper flinched at the sound of the door to his dark prison open. He was curled up in the corner of the cold stone room, and did not want to be disturbed. "Come here, star child." Dipper learned a long time ago to obey every order given. He painfully hauled himself over to the cult leader. "M-Ma—," Dipper broke off in a coughing fit. The cult leader tsk-ed. He sat down cross-legged and lifted Dipper's head into his lap. "Pine Tree... Ah, don't call me what you've been told by my followers. My name is William." "W-William... Yes, Will," Dipper croaked out. Will pulled out a wooden box. He stroked Dipper's cheek, then lifted his head off of his lap and moved to Dipper's wound. "I told them to keep you away from the traps. They're meant for the outsiders, not my designated husband." Dipper tensed, the hairs in the back of his neck bristling with a silent rage. A hand massaged his lower back. "Please don't be mad at me, star child. The demon we follow just happens to want me to become betrothed to a child of the gods. Cipher is the demon of knowledge and the mind. I take his name as my last name to show I am the demigod he chose to enlighten with his gift. You are the one that I am destined for, and I want to love the soul that I am to dedicate myself to." Dipper shifted so that he could look back at Will. "Your grandfather, Bill, tormented my great uncle. My parents were killed by your father, and my sister was almost molested by Gideon Gleeful, the second most known cult leader. Gleeful was the demon of telepathy and dark magic. Isn't telepathy close to the mind? Why should I trust you?" Will stared at him for a moment, then summoned a small, golden flame. "I swear on Cipher that I will not cause you any unnecessary harm, mental or physical." Dipper eyed him but said nothing, knowing that the demons cults worship mean their entire existence to them. Will stared into the flame, then brought up hid other hand and snapped his fingers. The flame morphed into a rose with shining silver sheets for petals and a stem of pure gold. "The stem will bend and break easily, since it's 24 karat, but I still hope you appreciate the fact that I thought about how much it would weigh if it wasn't." Will handed him the rose. Dipper took it and twirled it between his fingers. "I will treasure this," he reassured. He meant it. He absolutely loved the flower. Will gave him a loving smile and opened the box. "Let's set to work on your leg so I can bring you to my house. It is much warmer than this cold basement. Winter isn't making it any better." Dipper's heart jumped. He was going to be brought to somewhere warm? He spaced off, not even feeling the pain of Will cleansing and bandaging his ankle.
"All done." Dipper snapped out of his thoughts at the sound of Will's voice. Will helped him up, and together they walked out of the cursed shack and to Will's house. Dipper's ankle was practically screaming at him to saw it off when they finally got inside and sat down on the sofa. It was a two-person one, so Dipper cuddled Will as much as he wanted. Will cuddles back, whispering sweet words to him and making tons of promises to him. Dipper had Stockholm Syndrome, he knew it all to well by now, but he managed to convince himself that the affection he felt towards his captor was genuine and completely just.
Will took extremely good care of him from then on. There was never a time when Will made him feel unwanted. Dipper was still wary of him, but trust soon overruled it once the time came when Will began to become unnaturally clingy. More times than not they would have to shower together because Will had separation anxiety, worried that someone might have hurt Dipper while he was gone for just a few minutes. He was truly a good boyfriend and an even better husband, and Dipper sometimes laughed at the realization that a demon-worshipper seemed to love him more than his own family ever could. Will needed constant physical contact, completely embracing Dipper every chance he got. Dipper was caught off guard, though, when Will decided that he was going to bring Dipper everywhere with him and always have him at his side, pampered and cuddled incessantly.
