Dipper woke up to the feeling of his phone vibrating underneath his pillow. He groaned and pulled it out from under the pillow, feeling extremely tired. A shortened version of Irresistible by Fall Out Boy rang out through his bedroom on the attic. He winced and tapped the icon on the screen, turning the alarm off. He threw the phone onto a pile of clothes in the corner of the room and yawned, stretching. Scratching his head, he looked over at the calendar hanging off the wall. He could barely make out the blurry circle on the day and the words 'Happy Birthday!!!' scribbled down in the small box. He sighed and snatched his glasses from off of the bedside nightstand. After he put them on, he got out of the bed and shuffled towards the closet. He groaned after opening the door, deciding to wear another flannel shirt over a T-shirt.
Dipper felt more awake after changing into his daytime clothes and eating breakfast. Stan-cakes and bacon. Yum. With some maple syrup for the Stan-cakes, of course, and some scrambled eggs on the side. He finished his breakfast and went upstairs to brush his teeth. He looked in the mirror, frowning at the bags under his eyes. He looked down at the clothes he was wearing. A blue flannel over a dark gray T-shirt with seafoam green pine tree on it. Dark, baggy jeans and some typical converse sneakers completed the look. Don't forget the signature hat. He smiled at himself, at least happy with his clothing. He got to work brushing his teeth, did his business, washed his hands, then left the bathroom to greet his overexcited sister who was making a racket downstairs. Maybe he could ask her to cover up the dark rings under his eyes with some makeup.
Mabel grinned at her brother as he came into view while coming down the stairs. She quickly scooped up a bottle of medication an handed it to him, making sure the two older men, Soos, and Melody didn't see what the label read. Dipper gave her a grateful smile and took out two of the antidepressants, quickly swallowed them, then stuffed the pill bottle into his back pocket. "Need some more makeup, Bro-Bro?," Mabel asked, giving him a knowing yet kind smile. Dipper nodded, his gratefulness practically radiating off of him. Mabel smiled fondly at her brother and pulled out some makeup that she had prepared earlier, knowing full well what her brother was going to ask for later on. She set to work, making sure to completely remove any trace of the bags under her twin's eyes.
"Happy birthday!," Ford called out, giving Dipper a clap on the back. Dipper gave him a fake smile. Mabel saw right through it from her position next to Stan. 'My poor Broseph,' she thought to herself, 'Don't feel sad, Dippin' Sauce. I invited someone special.' She smiled to herself, knowing what her brother's reaction would be to seeing his old friend again after 3 years. 'He'll be so surprised. I can already see him crying with joy.'
The party was held at around 5 'o' clock in the afternoon. Everyone that knew Dipper and Mabel came except Pacifica. She was in the hospital, battling cancer. Mabel felt sick with worry. Her friend could be a bitch sometimes, but she still loves that sassy, rich, blonde girl. Dipper glanced at her, his eyes full of sympathy. Sometimes Mabel thought that her brother was too pure for this world. Other times she was disturbed by the way he thought and saw things. She brushed off the negative thoughts, looking around at all the people gathered before her to celebrate her birthday. She smirked, knowing full well that one guest still had yet to arrive. 'Three, two, one—' Knock, knock. Mabel grinned. "Looks like he finally arrived," she said loud enough for all of the confused people in the room to hear. They gave her confused looks, uncertain about this guest that only she seemed to know of. She beckoned Dipper over with a quick jerk of her head and headed for the door. Dipper awkwardly gave a few apologies as he clumsily stumbled after her. "M-Mabel, who is this guy? How come I haven't heard of him?" "You'll see," Mabel replied. "Coming!," she called out the the person behind the door. The knocking ceased and she opened the door to reveal someone she hasn't seen in a long time. "Will," she greeted, "Nice to see you made it." Will gave her an embarrassed smile, chuckling. "Yeah, I kinda got your message a little late. I got pulled over after driving 50 on a 20 mile limit road in my rush to get here... Rough day." Mabel laughed. "Sounds like it." Dipper stared at Will, different emotions swirling in the pools of his eyes. Will looked over at him, straightening up. "Dipper," he started, "I-I know that—" Dipper cut him off with a hug, gripping him tightly. He held him as close as he could, afraid that he might lose the other again. "Don't EVER leave me like that AGAIN," he grits's out, shaking and clinging to Will. Will's eyes went wide with surprise, and it took him a while to regain his bearings. When he did, he carefully hugged Dipper back, afraid that he might hurt him again. He softly pet Dipper's hair, making reassuring noises. "I'm not leaving for a while, I promise," he breathed out, "Just don't squeeze me too hard. I feel like I'm about to pop." Dipper sighed but released Will anyway. Will wanted to feel the warmth of the other again but was too embarrassed to admit it. Eventually, Mabel spoke up. "Let's go back to the dining room. The cake's waiting~!" Dipper laughed quietly and followed her, bringing Will with him as he held the other's hand. Will smiled at the contact. He remembered when they were younger and used to hold hands all the time. They just couldn't be separated. He hoped that they would never get separated again.
After the party was over, Dipper practically dragged Will up to his room in the attic. "You still sleep up here?," Will asked, slightly surprised. "Mhm," Dipper confirmed. Will guessed that that was all he was getting out of the brunet as of right now and decided to take a look around. He laughed fondly at the cluttered room. Books and papers littering a desk of the opposite side of the wall reassured him that his little dork hadn't grown out of his habits. He turned his head to see Dipper staring at him and jumped slightly. "H-Hey," he greeted, gulping once he realized that they were completely alone. Dipper smiled up at him. "I hope you don't have plans tomorrow," he said. "Wh-Why," Will asked, beginning to feel nervous. "Because you're sleeping with me tonight. It gets cold and I need your warmth. No other person will do," he replied with a hint of stubbornness in his tone. Will's eyes lit up with amusement. "Okay, my little kitten-boy. I'll keep you warm tonight." Dipper choked on his own spit. "That sounded so much wronger than it should have!," the brunet gasped out. Will laughed and pushed Dipper down onto the bed and getting under the covers next to him. Dipper squirmed, trying to get under the covers as well, and snuggled up against Will as soon as he was. Will blushed lightly at the fact that Dipper was completely pressed up against him. He kissed Dipper on the top of his head. "Goodnight," he said softly, enjoying the warmth shared between them. "Night," Dipper whispered, dosing off. Will smile and closed his eyes, willing himself to sleep (pun unintended).
Trying to get warmed up for the first chapter of my other story... Oh boy.
