Will trekked through the forest, limping. He got into another scuffle with the humans that owned a settlement nearby. He guessed they'd never understand. They were too blind to see that he was warning them of the danger that would surely be unleashed soon. His experience told him that it was almost time. So close, yet it felt so far.

Will remembered. He remembered the time that the humans were almost killed. The land used to be protected by a demon. He was rather short-tempered in his opinion, so he tried not to say anything that would make him even more touchy. He usually tried to avoid the demon, until it confronted him during one of his routine walks around the forest.

"What are YOU?," challenged the young demon, teeth bared, pupils just thin lines, and muscled bunched up, ready to pounce. Will blinked coolly at him. "I'm a Will." The demon's slitted pupils returned to their normal size as confusion clouded them. "What?," he asked, his voice still a low growl. "My name is Will. I don't exactly know what I'm supposed to be, so I guess I'm just... a Will." The demon stood up more straight, though his muscles were still tense. His gaze was no longer hostile. Instead, it was weary. "What are you doing?," he asked, his voice now smooth. Will smiled at him, though it probably wasn't seen because of his current appearance. "I was just strolling. But, may I ask, who are you?" The demon glanced behind him, then relaxed his muscles, evidently seeing no reason to be on the defense. "I'm the demon who calls this place home. I protect it as long as the creatures that dwell inside it don't harm me or turn against me." Will blinked warmly at him. "That's awfully nice for a demon." The demon visibly tensed, but kept his thoughts to himself. "I was patrolling the borders of my territory before we crossed paths," he hesitated before adding, "I was wondering if you'd might like to join me...?" Will nodded. "That would be nice. Yes, I'd love to accompany you on your... patrol." The two walked awkwardly in the direction the demon was previously heading. They stopped a few times, during which the demon seemed to scent the air like a cat would. Will wanted to laugh, but it would probably come out warped and perceived as threatening by the magical being. "... Do you have a name?," Will asked, finding it hard to just refer to the demon as 'they' in his mind. "Mmm... Just call me Dipper," he replied. Will nodded, liking the sound of the name.

Finally, Dipper told Will that his patrol was finished. The demon fidgeted uncomfortably for a few moments until he asked, "Could you accompany me some longer? I... I'm kinda lonely." Will felt a stab of pity for Dipper. "Yeah, of course." Dipper grinned and kissed him on the cheek, then led the way inside a small cave.

Inside the cave, a wooden structure was built. 'Smart,' Will thought to himself. They went inside and found that it was basically a cabin. Will smiled at the homey feeling he got inside it. He turned to Dipper and head-butted him softly. "This place is nice," he complemented. Dipper smiled at him and nuzzled his cheek. "Thank you."

Just days later, the humans came. They tore up parts of the forest, building wooden and stone houses in the process. They finally stumbled across the cave the demon called home and learned quickly of the threat dwelling within. Dipper killed many of them, using a combination of illnesses, murders, and straight-up wars. The battle seemed to go on for ages. All the while, Will watched from the undamaged part of the forest, feeling helpless. He hated the things the humans were doing, but Dipper was KILLING them. Children and women included. In fact, that's what he's been mainly aiming for. No women, no children. No children, no new humans that would either fight, destroy more land, our bear even more children. Then, suddenly, the day came. The humans were prepared. They started worshipping in a worthless god that gave them the power to condemn Dipper to the cave. Now, he is bonded there by magic, and the cave is sealed from the humans collapsing the mouth. After about a decade, the humans stopped believing in their pitiful god and went back to having no purpose but to destroy.

Will teared up at the bitter memories. The demon never once commented on what he was, except for the very first time they met, when he only wished to defend his territory. However, a part of Will, a part that he grew to hate, was happy that Dipper was gone. No more sickness. No more war. No more death. He yearned for the ill-tempered, overprotective, cunning demon's company. He yearned for his warm voice, his glowing eyes, his pointed teeth that shone when he grinned. Will closed his eyes, breathing deeply. The pain slowly subsided from the leg that the humans shot. He thought for a moment, then decided that he's had enough. They were ignorant. There will never be peace. They were the destroyers— even the children. Will sighed, then smiled. He'll bring Dipper back. Dipper will show them back to the fiery pits of hell from which they came.

Part 2 soon. Like, really soon. I hope.
