Dipper hesitantly followed Mabel through the crowd. She was going to have her ceremony today (she was an alpha). Their grunkle, Stan, died after being ambushed by rogues. Dipper, an omega, was treated badly, and he didn't want to come to the ceremony because it meant he would get publicly humiliated. He followed her up to the front and stood beside her. He gulped as he caught a million hostile glares sent his way. He turned his gaze to the ground and shuffled his feet. Tonight, there were even more higher ranks attending because this was a ritual the other civilizations were to attend. His sister's ceremony was an important one, as she had friends everywhere. She constantly talked to him about another alpha, Bill Cipher, and his much kinder but serious brother, Will, who was a beta. Dipper never wished to meet them. They sounded scary to him. A tyrant that was in charge of a whole civilization, who's right hand man was his brother? Dipper shuttered.  Surely the alpha would have greater influence over his second-in-command when he's his brother, right? Dipper shook his head. He couldn't let that get to him. He had to be prepared to speak for his sister. That was custom. He wondered how he was an omega anyways. Both of his parents were betas, and his sister was a beta chosen to become the head alpha once Stan died. Ford, Stan's brother and an alpha as well, had been too old to assume the position. Dipper was an omega somehow. It must be because he was a runt. Runts always become omegas. He was shorter than everyone he knew. It made him uncomfortable when someone stared down at him in hatred. He looked up at his sister as she began to speak.

"I, Mabel Pines, grieve for my great-uncle, Stanley Pines, and vow to follow in his footsteps to be as great of an alpha as he was." Murmurs of agreement rose up from the crowd. "Today, my brother stands next to me to share some words that will either support my leadership or send it to ruins. My role relies heavily on what he has to say. Dipper, what do you wish to share?" Dipper fidgeted under the gaze of so many people. "I-I would l-like to share that my sister is strong-headed and caring. She is bound to think of our town first, and her stubbornness to remain strong that I've grown accustomed to is bound to benefit us when we suffer." Laughter spread like a virus among the people. "Sh-She will make for a strong alpha. Who knows, she might turn out just like Stan!" Agreeing shouts made Dipper feel more at ease. Glad that was over, he waited for Mabel to signal to him to return to their house. Instead, she waved for someone to stand beside her. "I would also like to make an announcement. Bill, Will, come up here. I feel it isn't my place to say what you've decided. Dipper froze as the two Ciphers took their places beside her. One was blond with dark skin, who grinned like a maniac and has a confident air. 'That must be Bill,' he thought. His heart skipped a beat as he laid eyes on Bill's twin, Will. His hair was a light blue—almost white—color, and his skin was a slightly lighter color, allowing is freckles to show. Dipper felt a strange feeling deep in his core. 'I-It can't be...' He caught the other's eye, and their baby blue eyes went wide with shock. Dipper knew they must be feeling the same thing he was. He quickly turned his head, the image of the beta burned in his mind. He could feel the blue-haired Cipher's gaze on him still, but it felt more intense. He risked a glance at him and he could see that the beta's eyes were narrowed, watching him with a serious determination. Dipper shivered. Bill carried on with his long speech, and Dipper tuned in just in time to hear, "Therefore, my brother will take a mate from the Pines hometown, Gravity Falls." Will glanced at his brother, then turned his gaze back on Dipper, determined to talk to him. Mabel nodded and they dispersed, the crowd mingling with each other and sharing words.

Dipper could sense Will heading towards him and panicked. He headed into the crowd, trying to navigate through it. He needed to get home. Dipper heard the beta stop as a girl he knew, Pacifica started to talk to him. Dipper weaved between people and, once out of the crowd, ran to the Shack as fast as he could. At the door, he glanced back to see Will just exiting the crowd. They caught each other's eye and Dipper couldn't move. Will started towards him. Dipper's mind pleaded for him to move, but his body wouldn't listen. The beta was in front of him in a flash, and Dipper could finally move. He backed up a bit. 'No no no no no! I don't want this! He'll hurt me!' Dipper could tell that Will saw his fear. The beta shook his head and held out his hand. "Hey," he said casually. Dipper shivered. This was surely a trick. His mind fought against his body as he shook the taller man's hand. Will smiled, a genuine one, and Dipper's fear vanished immediately. His mind cleared itself of every thought but one. 'How did he do that?!'
