The day the Pines twins found out about Bill Cipher's new husband, they were flabbergasted. Who in their right mind would fall in love with that psychopath? And why the hell would Bill actually give a damn?

Of course, when they actually saw him for the first time, it turned out it was Bill Cipher that had, well, married Bill Cipher. Or, eh, not quite. He was actually an alternate version, the literal opposite of Bill, in fact, but still. It all made sense right then and there. Actually, it really didn't, but it kinda did.

Dipper almost hated Will at first, he was just so repelled by the fact that the dude actually cared about Bill Cipher enough to form a commitment to him. The guy that fucking wanted to kill him just because he was a small sliver of an obstacle for his plans. Bill Cipher was a goddamn maniac, a horrible, garbage being that didn't give a damn about anyone or anything. Dipper despised Will for marrying him.

...But then, Will actually turned out to be a nice guy. He was really sweet, honestly, and for some reason he kept insisting on trying to bond with Dipper. He attempted with both of the twins at first, but quickly learnt Mabel was even more determined to avoid him than her brother was. He couldn't blame her, really. She was literally seconds away from death by his love's hands not that long ago at all. Not that he actually knew that, of course, as Bill didn't really go into detail with what happened during his extremely short period of reign. But he still was able to sympathize. He flinched occasionally when he saw them, imagining glowing turquoise eyes in place of their kind brown ones. He understood her uncomfortableness.

Dipper, however, absolutely intrigued him. Even though he clearly was not well liked by the brunet, he couldn't help but obsess over interacting with him. He was so unlike his counterpart. Even with the plain dislike in his eyes he remained gentle and calm around him, spoke quietly, remained polite. His body language was that of a stressed and timid fellow, which Will related to and made him feel connected to him. He wanted to get to know him, needed to, actually, because he couldn't bear the thought of missing out on a chance for the welcoming, stable friendship their concurring personalities promised.

Will was obsessed with visiting their house, just popping in whenever. He actually loved the challenge it was to persuade Dipper to trust him. The brunet was very paranoid for sure, definitely some trust issues from that summer five years ago remaining strong and vigilant. Will could believe the amount of insecurity Dipper displayed around him. He folded his arms and looked away, an uncertain look on his face, whenever Will engaged in conversation with him. He was a rather submissive man, especially for someone of his size. Dipper was large, and so was Mabel. It seemed to have run in the family. He was a good foot taller than Will was, and that only attracted him more. Maybe, just maybe, if he could break down those walls, this shy boy wouldn't be so shy anymore.

That was when he realized he was a fucking idiot.

He miraculously allowed himself to form a crush on a human, who looked an awful lot like his past abuser, and while he was married to a surely possessive demon of nightmares. He was an absolute fool, parading around all carefree, indulging in his obsession. A downright dunce.

Months later, however, Will has still been allowing himself the joy of watching Dipper slowly grow more accepting of him. Finally, Dipper could actually be considered his friend. He visibly enjoyed their conversations together now, excitedly talking about interests and what-not. Will could help but smile in that lovey-dovey way whenever he laid eyes on that gorgeous face. Yeah, okay, he was digging a hole for himself, but he did still love his husband. He just... apparently had room for one more amazing dork.

And that dork just happened to be his lover's long-hated enemy.

He was more of a fool than he had realized before.
