It seems like he changed his stage name to RM because of all of the memes related to his old stage name Rap Monster like the one meme 'Its R-A-P monster not D-A-N-C-E Monster' but look at it again
Most k-pop idols stage name usually only have two letters now
Like take DK from seventeen then take DK from iKON then you BM from K.A.R.D and you also have JB from GOT7 and D.O from EXO and P.O from Block B and you also have I.M from MONSTA X and you have IU and then there's CL so that is the reason why most people think he changed his stage name to RM because it became a trend with k-pop idols to have a two letter stage name
