~ Chapter 22 ~

Phoenix was a quick healer. Within 2 days, she was back to normal. The doctors told us that she was the fastest to recover since they had the first case. It's a good sign because it shows that she is a healthy baby. A day or 2 after she had recovered, we were released. Doctor Chai told us that we were fine to go on holiday. When we got back, I realised that we only had a couple of days to sort everything out. I eventually fully packed both mine and Phoenix's suitcase, with the help of Brendon.

"Are you sure this is necessary?" Brendon sighed.

"Yes. If we want our child to be smart, then she needs to read books!" I pointed out.

"She's nearly 5 months old. She can't read books. Put them away." Brendon urged.

"Fiiiiiine." I groaned. I tossed the books on the bed and Brendon picked up Phoenix's Phoenix.

"What the hell is this?" He asked.

"It's her favorite toy." I told him, snatching it out of his hand.

"How come she never has it at my house?" He put his hands on hide hips sassily.

"She does but you don't notice. Maybe if you actually put her to bed yourself instead of getting Sarah to do it, then you would actually notice." I retort, repeating his actions. He just kind of glared at me.

"How did you know?" He asked.

"Girls can gossip." I shrugged. I folded up a few more baby clothes and didn't take any notice of him.

"What else have you packed?" He asked timidly.

"Clothes. Her toy. Swimming costume. Bottle. Binkies. Nappies. Stuff from the nappy bag. Oh and in my hand luggage I have the essentials, nappies and baby stuff. I also have our passports and flight tickets." I said.

"Have you packed your case yet?" He asked.

"Yeah. Have you?" I asked.

"Not yet." He said.

"You need to do it! We have 2 days at least!" I said. He held his hands up in defence.

"I know, I know!" He repeated.

"Are we going in separate cars?" I asked.

"Yeah. If you want." He replied.

"I honestly don't mind." I told him.

"Okay. I guess we can all go together. Will all the luggage fit though?" He queried.

"Well I'll have mine and Phoenix's cases, a baby bag, a bag for me, a stroller, a car seat, a suitcase for you, a suitcase for Sarah and Cal's Suitcase. Do you have a big enough car?" I asked.

"I do. I have the Range Rover." He smiled evilly.

"Cal, have you packed yet?" I asked down the phone line.

"Yep. I can't find my passport though." He sounded concerned.

"Have you looked everywhere?" I asked.

"Yeah..." He trailed.

"Even in your case?" I asked.

"That.... I have not." He said. I giggled at his stupidity.

"Go and check then!" I laughed. I heard a zip of a suitcase and the a little "aha".

"Got it. Thanks for that." He said. I could tell he was smiling from the way he was speaking.

"I've got to go. Early morning tomorrow." I said.

"Yep. Give a hug to Phoenix for me!" He joked.

"You'll see her tomorrow, anyway." I joked back.

"Oh well," he spoke. "I'll talk to you tomorrow then. Night."

"Goodnight!" I spoke.

"I love you, Alexis." He told me.

"I love you too, Cal." I smiled and hung up. I went to check up on Phoenix, who was fast asleep in her crib. I went back into my room and set my alarm clock for 3:30am as the flight was at 6am. I got the suitcase and put it under my Ned and flopped on to it. I fell asleep almost instantly because I was exhausted.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! The alarm wailed and I slammed my hand on to it. I immediately regret it as I smashed the top of it. I didn't think I was that strong. I got up and had a quick shower. I then dried my hair and pulled it into a pony tail. It looked so bright. I pulled on some sweatpants and an AC/DC top. I then picked up my case and brought it downstairs. I didn't even bother outgoing on makeup. I sent a quick text to Evie.
Me: I'm going to Hawaii for a week. I'll be back to record the new album after that. If you need me. Just ring me! X

I went upstairs and got Phoenix's case. I brought that downstairs and got her car seat and stroller. I picked up my hand luggage and there was a knock at the door. It was Brendon.

"Hey, is everything ready?" He whispered, realising Phoenix was still asleep.

"Yep. It's all here." I told him, gesturing to all the cases and bags.

"If you go and get Phoenix, I'll load up the car. Is Cal meeting you here?" He asked.

"Yeah. He should be." Then, he pulled up the my house.

"There he is." Brendon said. Cal walked over to us and greeted us.

"Hi, do you need any help?" Cal asked Brendon.

"Yeah. Can you grab the stroller and the seat please?" He suggested. Cal nodded and grabbed both. I quietly tip toed upstairs and carefully picked Phoenix up out of her crib. I held her close and changed her outfit. She was still asleep. I took her downstairs and noticed all the bags apart from my hand luggage were gone. I put my phone charger, headphones, phone, keys and purse in there before I locked the house doors and went into the car! I strapped Phoenix into her seat and sat next to her. I saw Sarah sat in the passenger seat of the car.

"Hi. Is she asleep?" Sarah whispered.

"Yeah she is." I whispered back.

"She's so cute!" Sarah cooed. Brendon and Cal got into the car and we were finally on our way to the airport!
