~ Chapter 34 ~

Amethyst was in rehab and was planning to stay for the full 70 days, meaning 10 weeks. It had been 5 weeks since she got there and we had visited her a couple of times and she seemed to be doing well. She's coping well in there, which I was worried she wouldn't. Meanwhile, I was preparing for Halloween as it was one of my favourite times of the year. I was also planning on asking Cal to move in with me soon so I thought that I might as well do it now. He was at many house and we were just talking about things.

"Cal?" I wondered.

"Yeah?" He responded.

"Do you want to move in with me and Phoenix?" I asked.

"I... Um." He answered.

"If you don't want to, that's fine. I mean, I'm not going to force you to do anything. I just thought that if you moved in, it would be easier for you to get to work and save you wasting your petrol coming over here." I rambled.

"Alexis." He stopped me before I could ramble any further. "I will move in with you."

"You will?" I reiterated.

"Yeah of course I will. I stumbled on my words purely because I wasn't expecting it." He explained.

"Oh thank the lord!" I jumped up and hugged him and he hugged me back.

"When do you want me to move in?" He asked.

"Whenever. I'm free for a while so, it doesn't matter." I said.

"What about now?" He asked.

"Now?!" I asked, really shocked at his proposal.

"Yeah. Why not?!" He said excitedly.

"Okay!" I said. "Wait. What am I going to do with Phoenix?" I asked.

"You could put her in the car?" He suggested.

"Yeah. I guess I could." I said. I picked her up off of her mat and strapped her into the car seat. I drove in my car and he drove in his. He only had a small flat so he didn't have much stuff. We packed the utensils, pots and pans into a box and put that in my car; as well as having bedding and pillows, all the light stuff. He left the heavy stuff there as he could sell it. We drove back to mine and unpacked his things. It didn't take too long so we finished the day off by watching a few movies.

"What is a good Halloween costume for a baby?" I asked, routing through the racks and racks of Halloween costumes.

"A pumpkin? A bear? A bat? There's loads of things that she could dress up as." Cal sighed.

"I know but nothing is jumping out at me. It needs to be something special." I explained for the millionth time today.

"Yes, I know because you have said that. Why is Halloween so important to you anyway?" He asked.

"Because as a kid, it always fascinated me that for one day a year, you can dress up and get free candy and not get judged. It's just an amazing atmosphere to be around. Every year I did up the house and it would look awesome!" I told him.

"How about this one?" He asked, holding up a mummy outfit.

"That's cute but-" I started but I was stopped by what I had found. It was a little black vampire dress with red on it and out had glittery swirls covering it. "I think I've found it!"

"That's adorable, I have to admit it." He said.

"We could all go as vampires!" I squealed.

"If you think that I'm dressing up as a vampire for Halloween, you have another thing coming." He said.

"Oh come on. It could be a family thing. It's her first Halloween!" I said.

"I'm not even her real dad!" He exclaimed.

"I know but please." I begged with puppy eyes.

"No." He said. We ended up buying all 3 of us vampire outfits. Cal didn't seem too pleased with this but it was going to be fun anyway.

"Now, let's buy some decorations!" I exclaimed. We went into another store and bought some fake cobwebs, skeletons, plastic spiders, hanging paper bats and fake blood. A lot of fake blood. Next we bought some scary Halloween treats and candy to give to the trick or treaters. "This is going to be so fun!"
