Alexis' POV

I sat alone in my house. I now had no brother as well as no parents and no boyfriend. I had no one. Maybe my brother is right. I'm a slut and a whore. My parents would be so disappointed in me of they were here. I looked down at my little bump.

"Don't worry, little peanut, I love you. We don't need anyone." I said. I then got a text from Evie.

Evie: Wanna meet at the coffee shop on 4th? X

Alexis: Yeah, sure. I won't be too long x

I got changed into some jeans and a Green Day top and grabbed my pink leather jacket and left. I decided I needed fresh air and chose to walk. I was walking, clearing my mind, when I walked straight into someone.

"Oh my god! I am so sorry!" I said to them. I looked up and I recognized that face.

"Alexis!?" They asked. When he spoke, I knew exactly who he was.

"Cal?!" I gasped. He nodded and hugged me. He was my best friend through Kindergarten to high school. We went separate ways when I went to music college and he went to law school. He was just like I remembered. Tanned/dark skin. Fluffy hair. Amazing smile. I actually had a crush on him at middle school to high school. Never got anywhere though.

"I thought you moved out of LA?" He asked.

"I did but then I moved back. How have you been?" I asked, still shocked that I had seen him.

"Not much. I'm a lawyer now." He said.

"Congratulations!" I said.

"Thanks. I see you're in a rock band now." He said. I nodded and smiled. "I've bought your album and came to see you play live."

"What?! Really?!" I asked.

"Yeah. I was near the back but I was there." He said.

"That's amazing. Anything else happen?" I asked.

"Yeah. I've got a girlfriend." He told me. My heart slightly shattered.

"Oh that's great. What's her name?" I asked.

"Holly." He smiled. "Anyone special in your life?"

"Nope. We need to catch up soon." I said.

"Are you free now?" He asked.

"I might be later. I'm meeting up with a friend now." I told him.

"Oh okay cool. Can I have your number?" He asked.

"Sure." I typed it into his phone and he smiled.

"Thanks. See you later." He said.

"Bye!" I waved. He hugged me one more time and I heard a click of a camera.

"Who's that?" He whispered.

"Paparazzi. Ignore them." I whispered back. We pulled away and waves goodbye to each other. I walked to the cafe where I saw Evie was waiting.

"What took you so long? I was beginning to think that you had been kidnapped or something." She said, pulling me over to a secluded booth.

"Sorry. I ran into an old friend from school." I told her.

"Ooh! Spill!" She said.

"His name is Cal and we were best friends all the way through school." I smiled.

"Will I know him?" She asked. I shook my head.

"No. I don't think so." I said. She nodded.

"Does he know about the baby?" She asked.

"Probably. It's everywhere." I said.

"That's true." She said. "What are you planning to do this evening?" She asked.

"Um clean up. Maybe watch some TV. Why do you ask?" I asked.

"Just wondered what you were gonna do. Just making conversation." She said.

"Yeah. There is a few shows I need to catch up on." I told her. Then there was an awkward silence between us. She looked at her phone and looked back up at me.

"Um I need to go. Talk to you later." She said. She then rushed out of the coffee place before I could say anything. That was odd. I shrugged and decided to walk home. I walked back to my apartment and sat down on the sofa. I plugged in my laptop then decided that I needed a shower. I had a quick shower and got out. I was getting changed when I smelled smoke. I walked into the living room to see it up in flames. I screamed and ran towards the door. The fire was blocking it. I started coughing from inhaling the smoke.

"HELP!" I screamed. I don't think anyone heard me though. I picked up my phone and dialled the first number available.

"Hello?" They answered.

"Brendon. My apartment is on fore and I can't get out." I cried. I started to cough again. He put down the phone and I dialled 911. I asked for a firefighter and told them my address. I started coughing more and more until I fell to the ground. The last thing I heard before I blacked out was,

"ALEXIS."
