"Who was that guy? And why did he want to kill Jessica?" I asked for the zillionth time.
"I've told you already, he is probably my cousins friend or so. Thing is, maybe she pissed him off. Its a regular party stuff. You wouldn't know because you don't party regularly." Jayden replied for the billionth time.
"I'm never attending another crazy party like that. You said and I quote 'don't worry, there is no alcohol and all those dangerous stuff'. You didn't give me a cause to worry, you gave me a cause to almost die of a heart attack. You, Chase and Tyler have one thing in common, you're all specialized liars." I huffed and folded my arms. I turned my face and looked out of the window.
"Okay, so maybe I lied. I'm sorry. I just wanted you to come. I'm really sorry okay?" He apologized. If I didn't know better, I'd say he sounded sincere.
"Its okay. What's done is done. I just wonder how you'll clean up the messed up house." I'd turned to look at him this time, actually concerned about what his dad would say.
"My dad doesn't even know about it and he probably wouldn't. When my mom passed, he moved out. He couldn't handle all the memories. Every furniture, artifact, colour and flower reminded him about my mother so he moved to a new place and gave me the old house because I wanted to live with the memories." He smiled and gave me the yeah-I-live-alone nod.
"So you have that mini mansion to yourself and you don't see your dad at all. Not bad at all. Could we trade lives?" I imagined a life that was Mason free, mother free and father free. Ultimate freedom.
"Trust me, it gets old. You wouldn't want to trade anything for this life. I spend my Sundays with my dad and sometimes, we bond every other week day." A lonely look crossed his eyes, he suddenly focused all his attention on the road.
If you've been wondering where Jessica is, then I'll have you know that she cried herself to sleep and she has been sleeping ever since.
I couldn't close my eyes. Maybe it was because I didn't want to miss out on any second due to the fact that this was my first time in a Lamborghini. I wanted to feel every breeze of the lambo air conditioner. Plus, if I slept, who would keep Jayden company? Okay, I didn't really care about any of that. I was just really shocked from what happened at the party and I didn't think I'd be sleeping anytime soon.
"Correct me if I'm wrong. So you mean that every single car parked in that garage belongs to you?"
I remembered when he took us to the garage. It housed basically five cars namely, a Lamborghini, a Porsche, a BMW i8, an Audi and a Ferrari. Trust me there was like double of each, or more. The first thing that came to mind was 'What in the world will he use them for?' He should be generous and give the less fortunate people some cars example moi!
"Most of them are my dad's. He doesn't use them so..."
We didn't interact again till I saw my driveway. We arrived safely and luckily it was just 11:45pm so Jessica would stay at my house.
"Jess, get up its time to wake up. We're home." I leaned into the back seat to wake her up immediately the car was parked in my driveway.
"Oh dear, I see the light. The light. Oh the light." She dramatically feigned passing into the other world.
I rolled my eyes.
"Get up or I'll smack you and your delusional eyes into reality." I seriously warned.
"I'm up already. See you in your room non delusional human." She gave me a wry smile.
After she slammed the car door shut, I collapsed on my chair and let out a puff of air.
