What I heard was... There was no word for this. I complained about Steve? Steve was just an apprentice in the area of deception. Shane or should I say James was an evil manipulating, cold hearted lying, tongue twisted, soul disturbed, devil controlled backstabbing demon.

"Times up." Officer James announced. The twins got up and left with slow dragged steps. The officer looked at them with a straight face and then he turned and looked at me. His features softened.

"I must say Miss Jones, you are one lucky child. Those two made a statement that has declared you a free woman." He smiled.

"Oh so now you believe what I've been saying for the part five hours." I replied with an eye roll.

"You're free to go get some deserved rest. We are sorry to bother you." He was still smiling. What was amusing here?

"So you guys know exactly who the killer is?" I asked.

"Not really. We have a leading suspect, but we are not completely sure yet. Some statement by certain teenagers who happened to be within the scene of the crime matched with your story. So we figured you were telling the truth. Also they brought the complete video evidence. So..." He shrugged casually.

Though I remember that the street was completely empty when this incidence occurred, I said nothing. I just stood up and continued looking at him.

"Your friends are in the waiting room." He told me as he packed up his stuff.

"Thank you for making me loose five hours of what should have been sleep. Have a nice life sir." I muttered as I walked out of the room. There was a huge glass frame opposite the door. That was when I saw my reflection. I was still in my oversize SpongeBob shirt and an equally oversize pajamas knickers with the PJ masks designed all over it.

It was an extremely weird combination for an eighteen year old. No wonder Mr James was amused.

Back to the matter at hand. Why didn't the twins just tell the cops the culprit and forget about this?
Oh yeah Shane was their brother whom they loved so it only made sense that they released me without directly telling the cops who the killer was and just leave few traces here and there for the cops to put together.

This was still like a movie to me. I mean were they serious? Was it possible that such a gang did such things, for fun?
I thought gangs did the things they did to survive, to earn forced respect, for power and all those type of material nonsense. I never imagined some group of psycho teenagers did things like this for their amusement.

I continued down the hall till I saw a door with the words 'waiting room' on it. The room didn't have any windows looking out on the hall way.

That meant that whoever was inside hadn't seen any one that had walked past this room and headed for the interrogation room.

That meant that if Shane, Chase and Brittney were here, then they didn't know about the visitors I had. That was a good thing.

I opened the door and walked inside. Shane practically leaped towards me and hugged me.

"Oh my goodness, I was so worried. They wouldn't even allow us to see you. Thank God you're okay." He gushed as he patted the back of my head which was leaning against his chest.

Hmm.

I must say, James was an amazing actor.

I could not rant or talk about it now. We were still in the station and also I don't know if Brittney and Chase were aware. I couldn't have them know that we were temporarily living with an assassin that killed for fun.
