“I feel like I’m part of the famous five you know? We are secretly going to catch the bad guys, even though she has already been caught for us. We all agree that I’m the one that will slap her face while you guys come up with a sweet comeback line right?” Brittney turned her head and looked at me, Chase and Jayden at the backseat. We all rolled our eyes at that.

“No Brittney. We’re going to have a civilized conversation with her and hopefully she’ll make things easy for every teenager by mentioning the names of the members of her stupid gang and where we can find them.” I explained.

“hmmph! I know Tyler will definitely deal with her for almost taking him away from Ella and his mother. Tyler, you remember how they cried in the hospital when they thought you’d died right? Remember that when you’re smacking her pretty little face, that way, you’ll leave a mark.” Brittney encouraged the boy. Tyler didn’t reply. He just kept tapping the steering wheel. I knew he was angry. Chase and Tyler are basically twins and since Chase did that today in my car when he was upset, I only assumed that Tyler was upset too.

“That won’t work. If he hits her when he is angry, one blow can take her out, you don’t want us to drive home and leave Tyler in a cell for murder right?” Jayden reasoned with Brittney. She just scoffed and kept quiet.

“Well, when Chase and Tyler here have gotten over whatever petty fight that they’ve got going on, we have to talk about what we are going to say and what we are not going to say.” I made sure that I referred the last part to Brittney. I just earned another scoff from her.

“I don’t have anything to say to her.” Chase finally muttered.

“Good.” I snapped. I couldn’t believe Chase could be so childish. I was still surprised about that film show he played in Tyler’s room. Tyler still kept mute and he chose not to say anything to any of us. Since I was seating directly behind him, I leaned in to whisper in his ears.

“I didn’t know you were a stalker.”

“And where did you get that idea from?” he whispered back, without removing his eyes from the road.

“I don’t know. Maybe because you knew that Chase came to my house to force me to go out with him, or maybe because he was always with me and you happened to know all that too.” I smirked.

“You should seat down properly Rita. No accidents or spilling of blood in this car.” he whispered back in a neutral tone.

“Oh, I’m not scared of that, you’ll probably find some way to save me of course.” I quickly replied.

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were flirting with me.” he shot back. I quickly went back to my normal position. No need to give anybody the wrong ideas. When I looked at him through the rear-view mirror, he had a small smile on his face and he had stopped tapping the steering wheel. I didn’t want to, I really did not want to but I just couldn’t help it, so I smiled to myself and then turned to look at Chase, sure enough our eyes met because he was looking at me and immediately, my smile metamorphosed into a straight face, void of any emotion.

“So Tyler, you said you’re going to University of New Verniy right?” Jayden- I know, I’m suprised - started.

“Yeah. I was interested in going there since forever. My dad went there.” Tyler finally spoke up to the hearing of everyone.

“Chase, are you still going to that school abroad, the one where they are really good with Psychology?” Jayden turned to Chase with an innocent look. I had a feeling that I knew where this was going and I had a feeling that I was not going to like it. Chase was quiet at first, then he finally said yes.
