"Just run!" He yelled.
We took off, running like our lives depended on it, scratch that. Our lives depended on it."You have a mental breakdown Chase!" I screamed, pushing one leg in front of the other. At a point I couldn't go anymore.
"I-I c-cant run ag-gain." I said slowly, running out of breath. And then he picked me up bridal style and continued running. Finally his house came into view.
Let me give you all some good advice. Follow your heart no matter what. As Christians, it'll be follow the Holy spirit's guidance or what some may refer to as the voice in your heart or the feeling your gut gives you. Wonder why?
Let me tell you why.
If you do not follow that voice in your heart, gut feeling, instinct, guiding voice or whatever you may call it, bad things happen. Take me for an instance.
You might be wondering what was going on right now. Let me take you back to when we left the driveway of that costume thrift store.
"So what did you plan that we'll do dressing up like a psycho couple?" I turned to ask Chase
"Just wait and see." He replied still driving.
We arrived at St Verniy square. The biggest and busiest place in New Verniy.
"Chase, I don't want to go through with whatever you have planned. Let's just ho to a salon and get my hair restored and let's go home." I sincerely asked.
I could have gone home now but there was one problem. The bag I picked while running out of the house was my school bag and it didn't contain my phone or any money. Plus I'm still new here. I didn't know my way home.
"Nothing to be scared of. Don't worry. Its nothing harmful I promise. Just a little fun. You're too guarded. Let yourself go for a while. It doesn't hurt." He smiled as he parked his car on the side walk.
"What would Jesus do?" I asked him.
"Well, I don't know for sure but I do know that the bible has nothing against having fun. Harmless fun too." He smirked.
Okay in a way, he was right.
I let out a long breathe.
"Okay." I muttered.
Without any warning, he pulled me out of the car and dragged me to the middle of the road.
"Are you this suicidal that you want to kill me with you?"
"Nope. We are just going to act a little play and bust some dance moves." He shrugged.
"On the road!!!!!" I shrieked.
"Chill out. This is a square. No car speeds by." He beamed.
He took out his phone and sent a text message to someone and just like that, a soundtrack bursts out of speakers. I don't know how that happened.
"People of St Verniy, watch and be blessed!" The soundtrack said, getting almost everyone's attention. The big screens hanging on the buildings surrounding the square were displaying only me and Chase as we are about to embarrass ourselves. How did that happen?
Just dance by lady Gaga came on. And Chase started a really crazy and weird dance. I had no choice but to join him.
By the way, I know we always have choices. This is just me loving the attention I was getting and creating an excuse to not say no
Soon we started dancing together like we rehearsed this. Actually I was just following whatever Chase did. It was not long before people brought out their phones and started videoing. Soon the song changed to 'We on top' by photronique. Don't get me started on how I knew the songs or their artists because that's a very long story.
