We got into my first child, and for the first time, I was not in the drivers seat. Chase made himself comfortable by wiggling around in my seat. I had to look away so that I wouldn’t suddenly pick offense with anything he was doing. After Chase had finished exploring the dashboard characteristics, what this car could do that his own car couldn’t and basically just annoying the life out of me by touching everything, we finally drove off to whatever park it was that ‘he knew so well, and I didn’t’.

He reached out and turned the radio on, I just relaxed in my seat and closed my eyes, pretending as if I didn’t see that he did not buckle his seat belt. If we had an accident, he’ll probably hit his head really hard and bleed out on my steering wheel. Super trouper by Abba bursts out through the speakers, continuing where my playlist left off.

“Three months, three whole months you’ve stayed in this city, mostly around my awesome presence and you still have no decent taste in music.”

“I love the song.” I simply replied because I was starting to hate this entire situation. No need to complain, its my car, you know?

“I’m turning this off. Like I said before, silence is much better than this.”

I thought he was joking, until he actually turned it off. I quickly sat up.

“Put that song back on.”

“Nope.” he popped the p, taking me to a whole different level of annoyance.

“Put that song back on, now.” I had my serious face on.

“No. Its slow and sad and I am not feeling sad. If you want to feel all down and gloom, wait till I’m gone, then you can turn it on.” His eyes were on the road the entire time, he took a left turn and a small park came into view.

“It’s my car, so you should do as I say.”

“Look it doesn’t really matter we’ve almost gotten to the park.”

“Of course it matters. You can’t just pop up, drive my car, play around for ten whole minutes like you’ve never seen a Porsche, forget your seat belt and then choose whatever song you like when I’m in the car. That is rude and annoying. Like what exactly do you hope to get out of it? Me saying that your constant battering is cute or is so different and so I’m definitely going to go with everything you do? Well, its not. Its annoying and sometimes, I wonder if you actually have an issue upstairs.” I didn’t know why, but I was not happy that he was insulting my taste in music, in my own car. Also, maybe, my voice went up a few pitches. He did not say a word to me. He just kept tapping his finger on the steering wheel as he drove and that made me feel really stupid. Like really, really stupid.

“Oh wow. Would you look at that, I’m being ignored in my own car.” I hissed and immediately I said that, he abruptly pulled over. I could still see the park ahead.

“Why did you pull over like that? Do you want to ruin my tyres?”

“For the love of God!!! if I hear you say ‘my car’ again. I’ll probably go insane. Can you not just shut your mouth till we get to the park? If this does not annoy you, then that will. Since you don’t want any issues with your beautifully crafted-from-gold car then drive yourself home.” he came down from the car and slammed the door.

Oh no. He didn’t. I quickly unbuckled my seat belt and climbed out of the car making sure to softly close the door.

“Chase!! What was that about? Why did you slam my door just because you didn’t like the way I spoke to you about handling my property. You have an issue, are you aware?” I was walking behind him and he didn’t pay any attention to me. I reached out and turned him to face me from his shoulder.
