The policeman cuffed me and was about to move me out of the room but Chase blocked the door.
"Who in the world is Stevenson Hathaway?" He furrowed his eyebrows looking at the cops.
"Is this a joke? Rita went on an errand and came back. Lord knows if she even knows the guy." He exclaimed raising his hands up.
"You'll have to excuse us or you'll be under arrest for obstruction of justice." Officer Jude calmly explained. Just then, his phone rang. He stepped aside to pick the phone call.
"What do you mean she is under arrest? Let us go with her." Shane tried to push past the cops.
"We are coming with her whether you like it or not." Chase announced and gave the cops a death glare.
"Sorry folks. If you want to see her then come to the station." The other officer shook his head.
"Just got a new information." Officer Jude announced when he returned from his phone call.
"Please let this be good." I muttered under my breath.
"Turns out you're being charged for murder and drug dealing." He replied.
"What???" The four of us screamed at the same time.
Please, please let this be a nightmare.
"Take her to the vehicle. She's probably dangerous." Officer Jude snarled.
"Rita would never do that." Shane defended.
"You never know who is who. Let's go." The other officer shoved me out of the room and Jude followed.
Chase, Shane and Brittney ran behind us.
I was forcefully shoved inside the back of the police car.
There were four cars outside. FOUR!!
Was I a high rise criminal? I was sandwiched in between two police officers.
What was happening in my life? I screamed when I saw a spider. I almost died the day a bat entered my room. I can't even bear to kill a cockroach and I've been accused of killing a human being?
How was that even possible?
Someone was desperately trying to ruin my life and it was working.
Which brought me back to the present. After narrating what had happened from day one, I'm sure you can see that I have absolutely no idea what was currently going on. In my head, so many thoughts were running through. How was I even associated with murder. Was Steve really gone? What in the world was going on? What will happen to the competition? What will people say?
Right from the hotel, flock of people with camera's were already taking photos. I could picture the headlines already.
'Daughter of well known neurosurgeon John Jones arrested for murder'.
'High school student arrested for drug dealing and homicide.'
I didn't know how to react. Should I cry? Should I laugh because maybe, just maybe this was a terrible joke, should I rant? How did I even get involved in this?
"Good evening Miss Jones. I am here to ask you some questions. I would love your cooperation and I would love you to be straight to the point with your answers." A different officer walked into the interrogation room with a stack of files in his hands.
"Before we begin, can I get your name sir?" I asked him looking at him straight in the eye.
"The names James." He replied me taking a seat opposite me on the other side of the table.
