Dear whoever you are,

Welcome to my story. As you will soon find out, I'm your regular teenage girl with regular teenage issues but sometimes, these issues can be overwhelming. You know the feeling when your parents overwork you sometimes and you consider running away from the house or just moving far away from them? Or when your friends ditch you and you start believing that maybe something is wrong with you for them to abandon you in such a humiliatingly disastrous manner? That's exactly how I felt in my junior year. In my case, I eventually moved very far away from my problems and I came up with guidelines to help me avoid a repeat of these issues in my newfound peaceful teenage life. It was the best decision I ever made. I was going to be invisible. Smart right? If people didn't notice my existence, then they couldn't bring drama in my direction, if drama didn't come in my direction, I would not have any issues to be bothered about. I know, I'm much smarter than my mates to come up with this genius plan.
However, I quickly learnt something. Living your life in a cage you created for yourself ultimately limits you. For one, you won't live to the fullest, you won't explore new territory and get yourself out there and you certainly will not blossom because instead of leaning out and enjoying the sunshine and fighting through the rain like other flowers, you'll be hiding in a dark corner, fighting to survive with whatever weeds and bacteria you find yourself surrounded with.
For someone that hates literature, that was an awesome use of metaphor. I'm sure Miss Saunders will be proud. This is my diary entry from the first day I got a diary till the day the pages ran out, complete with all the juicy stuff and jaw dropping drama. I hope you learn a thing or two from my experiences so that you don't have to go through them yourself. Follow each guidline and you might just learn how to be visible.

Love from,
Rita Jones :)
