A week later . . .

I watched as our good 'ol neighbor parked a huge truck in front of the house. The Reeds are a very close friend of our's, I think they've been friends with mom for a really long time. Mr. Reed will be driving me to my new place since I don't have my own car and I need to bring a lot of things with me as well.

Everything's set up, my new house, the new town, my job, everything. Considering that this is the first time I'll be on my own, I'm terrified and nervous. I mean, come on! It's my first job and now I have to move away, it's like a 16 hour trip to get there, it's so far away . . .

I hate the idea of leaving my family, this is why we didn't even have our own separate houses when we're on college, we wanted to stick together.

"Joy." Mom called out from behind me while I looked through the window.

"I know, mom." I sighed, it's time to leave. I heard footsteps coming from the creaky staircase and spun around, everyone started gathering around the living room, "Uh . . ." I mumbled, it's kinda awkward, "Okay, l-let's go outside?" I muttered while they gave me a stare, what the hell.

I slowly walked out the front door while carrying a small sling bag, all my other things are in the truck, this just contains my phone, wallet and whatnot.

I stood up on the grassy lawn as Mr. Reed waited in the truck with the same friendly smile he wore. I glanced at my family, what's with the stares!?

"I'll miss you." Jewel was the first to speak, thank God. She walked towards me and gave me a quick hug, "Don't forget to vid call me." She grinned.

"I won't and I'll miss you too." I giggled as she pulled away.

Mom and dad stepped closer, "Good luck, Lucille. We'll support you all throughout." Mom smiled.

"Don't call me Lucille." I jokingly widened my eyes to look scary, "But thanks, mom." I wrapped my arms around them. For some reason, I get weirded out when people call me by my middle name.

"Be careful," It was dad's turn to talk, "No dating allowed."

"Dad, I'm an adult already!" I protested, not like I plan to get a boyfriend or anything.

"You'll always be my little girl." He chuckled, "A noisy one."

"That's mean." I commented as I pulled away. I walked over to Juliet and saw her looking a bit alarmed, "And what does little miss sassypants wants to say to me?" I crossed my arms and gave her a mean look.

"Is that the best you can do?" She said with an amused grin, "I just want to say good luck, because you will surely need it." She sarcastically sang.

"Wow, thank-" I stopped as I realized, "Wait, was that an insult?"

"Probably." She laughed.

I took a lollipop from my pocket which I was saving for the trip and shoved it in her mouth without removing the candy wrapper, "My goodbye memento!" I bursted out laughing at her face.

"Gross!" She spat it out with a look of disgust.

I turned my attention to Darwin and walked towards him, he doesn't show any signs of emotions as usual, "Darwin! Mah brothah!" I gave him a bear hug considering his tall height, "You, my man, need to get yourself a girl." I whispered.

"I don't need to hear that from you." He gave me a weird look, "I need a job, not a girl." He shook his head.

"Uptight as ever, whatever." I dramatically sighed, "Get a girlfriend." I ordered, giving him an irritated look.
