An hour probably passed . . . I still can't sleep. I'm already tired, but the storm isn't stopping any time soon. It's so loud. I could even hear branches scraping against the wall beside me. The gusts of wind aren't helping either, it's getting scarier and scarier here by the minute. The room is too big and I couldn't even see the end of the room or the door because it's so dark in here. Motels like this really gives me a bad feeling.

I can't sleep like this. I removed the covers and got up. I took my bag from under the bed and rummaged through it for my phone. As I was doing so, I thought I saw something move from outside of the window and looked. Then I heard a sound as if something big was tearing apart and the branches scraping on the wooden walls got louder.

Puzzled, I grabbed my bag and glanced at the window to find the source of the sound, but the rain hitting the glass like bullets made it hard for me to see anything-though I could see the motel sign glowing red. I felt something hitting the wall from the outside constantly with a rhythm. I froze when I heard the sound again, much louder this time. It's as if a huge thing was creaking repeatedly. Then, I heard something snap.

I stared at the window, hoping to make something out of the abstract view. I could still see the motel sign, but something suddenly blocked it. Whatever it was, it was getting bigger and bigger-that's when I realized that it wasn't getting bigger, it was getting closer.

In fear of the object, I made a run, away from the window. I don't care what that is, I'm not staying in this room. The weight of my bag in my hands caused me to lose my balance and fall over, halfway towards the door.

At first, I heard glass shattering, causing me to scream in fear. Then, it didn't stop there, I heard the sound of multiple wood pieces breaking and felt the floorboards shaking beneath me. I looked behind me to see the rain getting inside due to the corner of the room getting breached by a fallen tree.

The bed was covered in debris and I saw how a tree trunk had pierce right through it. Fortunately, I managed to crawl onto the secure part of the room that hasn't been destroyed. The floor wasn't that ruined, but the ceiling by the corner is completely open. If I hadn't gotten up from the bed, I could have been under all that mess . . .

The destruction of nearly half the room caught someone's attention when I heard the door behind me slam open. I haven't even turned to see who it was when I felt hands on me, helping me up and pulling me away from the shattered glass in front of me.

Without wanting to, I cowered and pressed myself against the person's chest out of fear and was warmly wrapped in someone's arms. I felt my whole body quiver from the shock I received. I couldn't even stop myself from tearing up.

"Are you hurt?!"

I sighed in relief when I heard Byron's voice. It feels safe. I shook my head, but unexpectedly, I felt a hand on the side of my face, raising my head to meet his calculating, panicked gaze. The kindness he showed made me let the tears I've been holding back fall.

I know that I'm fine now and I didn't get hurt, so I shouldn't cry, but I've never been in a situation like this and the feeling of fear and panic overwhelmed me. I would've been badly injured if I slept . . . or even die.

"What happened?!" Droney came running in, along with the three other people from the shared room, "Is she alright?!"

"She's fine." Byron quickly responded.
