Two days later . . .

Monday, 6:50AM

"So, what do you think?" I mumbled through the phone.

"Static?" Darwin repeated at the other end, "I don't really know about seeing static, it could be your eyesight."

"My vision is fine though." I sighed, "What about the headaches?"

"It could be stress, you just moved there, after all." He muttered, "Don't push yourself too hard."

"I'm not really feeling stressed out . . . maybe I was just tired?" I asked.

"Could be."

I groaned, "Alright, tell me if you find anything more about the static. I have to go or I'll be late." I said as I stood up from the couch, "Tell everyone I miss them-wait, don't tell Dylan or Juliet!" I corrected myself.

Darwin chuckled, "Okay, take care."

I hung up and snapped my head at the wall clock to see that I'm really going to be late if I don't get going, shit. I didn't know talking to Darwin about the symptoms would take so long.

I grabbed my bag and sprinted out the door, locking the door in the process. I ran as fast as I could towards the school. I didn't say anything about the suspicious guy I saw because I didn't want them to worry about me, especially mom, she always worries too much. Although I did make plans to ask Rachel and the others about the man, they might know something about it.

I reached the building and barged through the gate and main door, I was already out of breath but I kept running through the halls all the way to the office. My first class today is earlier than usual so I'm in panic, I don't wanna be late considering this is my first job.

I opened the door to the office and came face-to-face with Ryan who's also holding the doorknob from the other end. What timing.

"Scuze me!" I walked inside as he went out with a laugh.

"Someone's lively today." I heard a deep voice and momentarily glanced up to see Lance.

"I'm gonna be late!" I informed as I piled my stuff on my desk. Byron was sitting on his chair across from my desk, working as usual. I picked my things up but my pen rolled over from the books and fell off, it landed on Byron's desk but spontaneously decided to do a backflip and ended up on the floor. Of all times, why now? Nothing ever goes right when I'm in a hurry, "Could you get that, please?" I asked Byron.

He emotionlessly looked up at me for a second before reaching down beside him and grabbing the pen, he reached the pen out to me with a scowl. I uneasily took it from him and smiled, "By the way, thanks for going out of your way to help me last saturday." I muttered in a hurry and reached across the glass dividing our desks and gave him a good tap on the shoulder.

I didn't stop for a response-which I probably won't receive-and bolted out of the room with my stuff, taking big steps towards a classroom. I didn't get a chance to thank him the other day since I was saving time because of some people who decided to show up late.

。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。

"Rachel, do you have time to talk after work?" I called out as I walked towards her cubicle.

"Oh, I have to babysit my cousin's daughter, why?" She looked up at me with a smile.

"I just have some really, really important things I have to ask you about." I mumbled, "Is it possible if I could come and babysit with you?" I urged, I couldn't talk to her yesterday since I don't know where she lives or what her number is and I'm just getting more and more worried.
