Joy's POV
A few hours later . . .

A bit of consciousness came to me, though I wasn't fully awake and I didn't plan to open my eyes just yet. I sneezed at the cold, squeezing myself further under the thin covers for warmth. I felt exhausted even after hours of rest. It could be because I'm not used to this place and after I nearly got impaled by a tree, the paranoia just lingers.

Keeping my eyes shut, I tried not to think of anything to hopefully go back to sleep. But with every passing minute, my consciousness just keeps growing and I became more aware of my surroundings until I was fully awake.

Something doesn't feel right . . . I moved around, trying to regain my senses. I felt that my arm was wrapped around something-actually, I felt trapped.

I opened my eyes to see a neck. I blinked, wondering what the hell is going on, before I tilt my head a little higher and seeing Byron's sleeping face, right above mine . . . What . . ?

Caught by surprise, I impulsively moved away, trying to put some space between us out of embarrassment, but I found out that I can't.

He had his arm over me, locking me in place, close to his chest. I stopped for a moment, unable to comprehend the situation. I blinked and glanced at his face again, confirming that he's still asleep. Well, there's no way I could go back to sleep like this. Besides, it's already bright out. But, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance . . .

Not having any sense of shame, I pressed closer to him and buried my face on his chest, a few giggles escaping my lips out of embarrassment as I felt his warmth. Just for a minute, then I'm out of here . . . We should all be on the road by now.

Just as I did, I felt him tense up-which can only mean that he's awake and aware. Confused and alarmed, I slowly pulled away, looking at him, but his eyes were half open and unfocused, as if he had woken up just now. His gaze made a sharp turn to me as I stared back in a mixture of horror and embarrassment.

I felt that I'd save more of my reputation if I moved now. I hurriedly removed my arms around him and rolled over to the other edge of the bed, escaping his hold on me. My back was turned to him and I plan on staying in this spot until I can face my humiliation.

I decided to speak up and pretend it didn't happen, "Good morning . . ." I murmured, not looking at him.

"What were you doing?" He immediately asked. I felt the covers shifting.
