"Fuck . . ." I groaned as I dropped all the things I'm carrying and collapsed on the chair. I thought I'd stop and rest in this diner, there's not much people in here . . .

I've been all over the whole town, the neighborhood isn't that big but Jesus, the buildings in here are too distanced from each other so it actually took me longer than I hoped for, it's also because I keep getting lost. I walked at the first hour but then the stuff I bought using the money that Sean gave got too heavy so I had to take the bus, I had to calculate the expenses to make the school budget last too, it's exhausting.

A blonde woman wearing the diner uniform walked up to me with a notepad and pen, "What can I get you?" she smiled.

". . . Cofeh plis." I forced out. I'm still catching my breath, I just walked around with 9 heavy bags hanging from my arms. Not to mention it's humid in here.

"Coffee?" she unsurely asked. I gave her a nod in return, "Okay." she replied before making her way towards the back.

I shouldn't have offered to help in the first place. I didn't think Byron would seriously let me go alone, this is way too difficult for a girl. How am I supposed to carry all these back to the school? I'm permitted to go in the middle school since Sean told the guard or whatever, afterwards, I'm going to gonna run back home and sleep. Just sleep, and rest. That's sounds like heaven right now . . .

My pointless thinking was distracted when the lady came back and served the coffee. I thanked her and stared out the window while taking a sip. It's starting to get dark, I better hurry or the school will close before I even get there.

My eyes shot up when I saw the same masked man under a flickering lamppost a bit far from the diner

My eyes shot up when I saw the same masked man under a flickering lamppost a bit far from the diner. What the hell, is this a joke? Because it's not funny. I stared at the man with caution and gave him a weird look but he didn't budge. He just stood there, staring back at me.

'What?' I mouthed out to him through the window, 'Go away' I discreetly waved my hands at him while giving him a pissed-off look. Still, he didn't move, 'Fuck you.' I mouthed out again while giving him the finger.

I heard someone clear their throat beside me and glanced to see an old man sitting on a stool and looking at me like I'm crazy.

"Ah, sorry." I looked down, "S-Someone outside is . . ." I trailed off as I looked back outside.

Unease surged through me as I scanned around the area. The same thing happened, he was gone. The hell, I only looked away for a second. He could've probably ran to a nearby alley but that's still too fast for him, it's like he just disappeared. This is creepy, I'm getting scared . . .

I really should go before it gets too dark, it's dangerous by myself especially when there might be someone following me.

With a sigh, I stood up and ransacked my bag for a dollar and placed it on the table. I huffed and picked all the bags from the opposite chair and clumsily walked out of the diner. It really got dark out . . . I better hurry, the school will close in an hour.
