"Wow . . ." I mumbled as I pressed my face on the car window like a little kid."It's really different from our city." Mr. Reed said as he glanced sideways.
It's true. Back at home, it was crowded, polluted, filled with extremely tall buildings, a lot of rude people and noisy. This place is unlike any of those things, I can tell. We passed by a lot of houses, everyone looks really kind and friendly, there isn't a towering building in sight yet, there were mostly diners, a few market shops, and other cute little buildings.
Everywhere I look, I see trees and flowers, something I barely see back home because of how crowded it was. This town is a lot smaller compared to our hometown, it's quaint. It doesn't seem as bad as the city, actually, it feels a lot better.
The truck suddenly stopped, "This is it." Mr. Reed looked out, "Here," He handed me a key.
"My house?" I excitedly asked, as soon as he gave me a nod, I wasted no time and got out. I circled the vehicle and stopped in front of a blue house, "This is amazing." I gawked, it's a small two-story house that looks like the rest of the houses in the neighborhood, only different in terms of color. I can't believe I own this now.
I ran to the porch and opened the door with the key and went inside, cool . . . The house was already furnished, mom and dad did a good job with it. There's a tiny kitchen on the back with tables and chairs, a small couch in front of a TV, probably the living room.
There was a door that went down to a basement which is empty besides a machine and dryer. I darted upstairs to the second floor to see that there are only two doors, one leading to a bathroom and the other one is the bedroom, I think this room is the biggest out of all.
"Neat house, very simple." I heard Mr. Reed while he walked up the stairs.
"It's great." I smiled.
"Yeah . . . Let's start bringing your things in." He nodded at me.
"Oh, yeah." I replied.
We headed downstairs and out to the truck, I started picking the boxes up and bringing them inside the house. I didn't bring any furniture since the house was done, these just contains my clothes, books, household things and other stuff.
Mr. Reed and I went back and forth the house, bringing my things in. As I was making my way back to the truck, a blonde man wearing a suit had stopped me, "Hello." He greeted and stretched out a hand.
"Oh, hi." I smiled as I shook his hand.
"I'm Austin Reese, I live a few blocks away." He introduced.
"I'm Joy Lucille Williams, nice to meet you!" I gave him a nod.
"Nice to meet you too." He returned my smile, "I just thought I'd check the new neighbor before going to work."
"Oh, well, thanks." I grinned.
"So-" He didn't get to finish his words when a ringing sound reverberated from his pocket. He took it out and glanced at it, "Oh no, I have to go." He looked back at me, "Anyway, I hope we can talk soon."
"Sure!" I replied, he gave me another smile before walking to his car which I didn't even noticed in the first place and sped off.
Well, he looked . . . gentlemanly? Seems like a good person, I wonder what job he has, he was wearing a suit and all.
How nice, maybe living here is not as bad as I think after all. I wonder if the other people in this town are like that, I sure hope so. I went back to the truck and grabbed another box before heading back to the house.
