I am sleepy, I am tired, I am cranky. I'm hungry too. It really isn't the best combination right now. My eyes are probably bloodshot and all I could do was wait for the time to tick away or stare at Toby.

Who is also staring back at me.

Scratch that, he just stares at me dead in the eye no matter what I do. If I walk around, his gaze would follow me. If I leave the room and return, his eyes would still be on me. I think he's doing it on purpose to piss me off. An hour ago, he was bawling his eyes out, crying about how he accidentally killed his mom in the fire he started in their house. After he grew tired or dehydrated from crying, the staring began and it hasn't stopped.

If I try to talk to him, I'd get nothing. No response. Not even to questions related to him or his family. I'm starting to get worried that he won't answer our questions at all. Byron will have to deal with him then.

"Blink, damn it." I exclaimed at him. If it weren't for his twitching, I would have thought he froze in time. "How long are you gonna do this?" I probably asked the same thing more times than I can count already. Maybe I should just go check the towels in the tub again and see how much left is there to clean . . . I really need bleach to finish things up.

Taking one last look at the kid, I stood from the couch to make my way to the upstairs bathroom, but as soon as I turned my back on him, the silence was broken by Toby himself, "I . . . Let me go to the bathroom." He demanded with a straight face.

I glanced sideways at him, "What?" I asked, not because I didn't hear him, but because I didn't expect him to speak at all in the entirety of his time with me.

"I need to take a piss." He glowered, "Unless you want to clean more than just blood." His throat must be dry as hell because of the way he sounds.

Well, I sure as hell am not cleaning someone else's piss. I'll clean blood, but fuck that.

Mentally weighing my choices, I decided it would be best to let him, although now, I'm wondering how. It could be a trick and I can't let him escape. The only bathroom is the one upstairs too. "How do I know this isn't some plan to escape?" I asked, trying to read him.

"It isn't." He blandly replied. I just rolled my eyes at the answer. So, that was pointless. Either way, his hands and feet are currently tied up pretty well. I'm sure the only way to remove the ropes is by cutting them . . .

Forming a vague setup in my head, I gathered another set of rope from the basement as quick as I could and a knife from the kitchen. "Try anything and I will stab you." I warned as I cut the rope binding his wrists together from behind with the knife. As the pieces of rope fell on the ground, Toby kept his hands behind his back even when they were already free. "Put your hands in front of you." I firmly said and to my surprise, he complied with no unnecessary actions except the twitching. Now that his hands were in front of him, I bound them together again by the wrists.

He didn't show any sign that he's trying to escape at all. He remained lifeless with the way he responded to anything. I still didn't let my guard down though.

Now that his hands were tied in front of him, I undid the ropes tying him down to the chair. It was a bit of a struggle. It would be easier to just cut the ropes, but I have to conserve those. I don't have much of it in my house.

"Get up." I muttered and Toby slowly stood from the chair, still bounded by the ankles and wrists.

I didn't give any further warnings and bent forward and grabbed him by the legs, swinging him over my shoulder with a heave before walking up the stairs, the sound of the shower growing louder as we got closer. I remember doing the exact same thing with Byron just earlier. I think I might have just gotten Toby's blood on my shirt. I'll need to change again . . . Damn it.
