Chapter 35: Tearful Night

Nag-aayos ako ng mga gamit ko dahil bukas na ang flight ko pabalik ng Cebu. While I was packing up, tita Miah came in to hug me. She was so emotional that it made me cry too. Sobrang nadudurog ang puso ko sa magkahalong sakit at panghihinayang.

"It's breaking my heart, Rylai."she muttered. "I've always been praying all along that you will be my son's wife and be the mother to my grandchildren. I've never doubted your love for Blaze and it is a mother's joy to be assured that her son's going to be taken care of. You are a blessing in our lives, anak."

MY HEART WAS BEATING so fast when my senses got awakened and realized that someone was hugging me. I don't have to open my eyes to see who it is. I know his scent—the fragrance of his hair and the scent of his perfume. In my conjecture, Blaze was hugging me for almost an hour now since I woke up but I pretended to be asleep. "I love you so much, baby."he whispered, his breath filled my nostrils.

He was drunk. I can smell the alcohol in his breath.

"I love you. I love you. I love you."paulit-ulit na bulong niya. Kasunod no'n ang pagpatak ng luha niya sa pisngi ko na nagpaagos narin ng luha ko.
