illumination on a friday

december15twenty17

frozen in the moment, freeze-framed emotion. my head is pounding with a million red-hot scars all surging forward with an ice rain, down upon my lifeless skin.

oh my dear sunshine; so heavenly. your smile brought warmth into my day. I'd have collapsed on the spot if it weren't for the sixteenth-note singing of my baritone heart.

I ache with light, with the presence of you - for to tear myself away was the greatest sin. still running through my body, post-panic laces my veins, but there is nothing.

my universe is so empty without you in it, I saw it with my own eyes. so dark, so troubled. leading a life of absolute pain, but the warmth of the sun heals forgivingly.

the stars will shine down on both of us, since neither of us are present in the sky - but we will be remembered by the light of day and the dark of night.
