*warning: major character death (suicide)*

It had started with a tickling sensation.
His throat would feel itchy sometimes, little did he know this would be his doom.
-
He tian first started having feelings for the red headed delinquent around middle school.
His crush had evolved and grown with the years, making his life unbearable at times.
When had the ginger invaded his mind completely?
The only problem was- the feelings weren't mutual, he at least thought.
As much as he tian tried, guanshan would always reject him coldly, eye him annoyed or simply cuss him out.
So he never had the courage to directly speak to him about it.
He'd lose the precious time with him otherwise, right?
-
He had started coughing up light pink petals soon after.
Delicate and soft petals.
Sometimes with little red spots- sometimes with purplish marks.
Tian realized that he was in deep shit.
He maybe had some good months left to get the red head to reciprocate his feelings, before the plant would grow roots piercing his lungs.
-
'Why are you so clingy? You were clingy before but - what the fuck is up with you?'
'I'm dying, shanshan~'
'That's great news.' the red head answered jokingly.
'Now would you get the fuck off of me!'
-
Two months had passed and he tian hadn't achieved nothing.
Their relationship was still light, teasing and nothing too serious.
But tians condition had changed- every time the red head would show his tender side, his insides would start aching, leaving wounds.
With every time he tians lungs and throat would feel even worse.
Not only that but- whole flowers started appearing from his mouth.
And it hurt.
-
He tian had kept his secret good, four months and no one had caught a glimpse of the pain, he was hiding so well.
-
Some nights he had woken up from his light slumber, clutching and clenching on the bed sheets and his own clothes.
The blood stained flowers had krept up his esophagus again.
He tian often found himself shaking, with tears in his eyes.
-
His weakened body had collapsed in pe once.
A huge turmoil had formed and the whole school had talked about him.
Distressed whispers, nervous glances.
He looked pale and of course the red head had noticed his feeble state.
Shrugging it off he hadn't seen the worried looks guanshan had given him.
-
Every sort of contact with the ginger, indirect or direct, made tian flinch in pain.
He felt the roots and branches move, scraping and stabbing his insides.
He knew- his time was limited.
He had three options.
1. Tell guanshan about what was going on and getting rejected
2. Enjoying his remaining time near the red head- but loosing his life quickly
3. Avoiding the ginger and suffering quietly- but... having to life a few days more
And he chose to suffer in the shadows, unseen pain when he'd spend time with him(nummer2).
He would be found dead in his apart then.
This was for the best, right?
-
'He tian, you have a cold or anything?' guanshan was laying on his bed, his arms tucked under his head.
Tians pale face lit up- a ray of hope.
'No, I'm alright.'
'You don't look ALRIGHT though.'
A branch bore through his left lung.
He felt it ripping something.
Sweaty and trembling he stood up immediately, stumbling into the bathroom later.
He had vomited more blood than flowers into the toilet, that time.
Guanshan had followed him stopping at the door.
He tian was grateful he had closed it, sparing guanshan this pitiful sight.
The ravenette had coughed some times after, washing his face swiftly.
Guanshan had triggered a bad reaction, one of the worst he ever has had.
Stepping out of the little bathroom, tian heared the boy gasp.
Swiping off the remaining blood of his chin, that he had missed, tian barged out of the apartment.
-
He was cold.
He had been for a few hours.
He wasn't moving.
He just laid there on his bed.
In the end he couldn't tell the ginger- he couldn't bring himself to.
He wanted this to go differently.
He didn't want this.
Why?
Why did these red stained flowers still look beautiful to him?
They were killing him.
Maybe because they are the proof of his love for guanshan.
Guanshan.
He wanted to say it, get it off his chest.
Only once.
'I-'
He coughed some blood.
'No petals this time, huh?'
'I love you, mo guanshan.'
The sun peeking through the curtains reminded him that he had forgot about school.
He couldn't care less about school at that moment.
He tian was afraid that he would cease to exist if he'd close his eyes.
He was not afraid of dying- no.
He was afraid that guanshan would not receive enough care, love and attention without him in this world.
-
After he tian had missed a whole school day guanshan got worried.
'What is that fool doing?'
He already had knocked many times at tians apartment door.
Using his knowledge, the ginger took the hidden key from the dead flowers flowerpot next to the threshold.
Something was definitely wrong.
-
Guanshan only realized he was crying after he tasted something salty on his lips.
It was terrible.
There was he tian on his bed surrounded by blood and- petals?
There were tissues and some buckets full of thick gore.
The bed sheets and the ravenettes clothes were stained.
Dim light because of the curtains had made it hard to make out details but- this was real.
This was no nightmare.
Guanshan wasn't dreaming.
Ignoring the mess and all the body fluids the red head jumped on to the king sized bed shaking tian from his- from his 'hopefully only' heavy sleep.
'He tian! What- h-he tian.'
His hands were searching for a sign that would make the cold body seem alive.
A grey, unfamiliar dull, eye flattered open slowly.
'...guan..shan' a hoarse and rough voice mumbled.
'What happened to you? What's the meaning of all these flowers he tian?!'
A hesitant hand found its way to the gingers cheek, smearing some blood on said boys face.
'D-don't tell me..' guanshan had uncharacteristically stuttered.
Wiping a tear away, the ravenette proceeded.
'You are ... beautiful. You know that...?'
Guanshans hands clenched on tians shirt.
'He tian!' The boy knew what to do.
'Let me go..guanshan. I don't need you to save me...'
'He tian, i love you. Don't leave me.' He admitted through tears.
A content and small sigh escaped the black haired boys lips, before he coughed loud, vomiting everything he had left inside onto the other side of the bed.
'Don't lie. Please ...'
'I'm not lying! I'm in love with you!'
His sweat and guanshans hands were holding his hair up.
In between he tian managed to say.
'I love you.'

......

Was it too late ....or was it not true?

He tian will never know.
-
"I followed, so taken
so conditioned I could never let go
Then sorrow, then sickness
-
Test my will, test my heart
Let me tell you how the odds gonna stack up
Ya'll go hard, I go smart
How's that working out for ya'll in the back, huh?
I've seen that frustration
Been crossed and lost and told no
And I've come back unshaken
Let down, I've lived and let go
So you can let it be known
I don't hold back, I hold my own
I can't be mapped, I can't be cloned
I can't see flat, it ain't my tone
I can't fall back, I came too far
Hold myself up and love my scars
Let the bells ring wherever they are
Cause I was there saying...
-
In these promises broken
deep below
Each word gets lost in the echo
So one last lie I can see through
This time I finally let you
Go, go, go."
(Linkin park~lost in the echo)pls go listen to that song! This suits this one shot so much!
