Chapter 31
Y/N's POV
"Listen Louise, I know how this looks -"
"Well it looks like your boyfriend's Dan Howell"
"I know it's bad but-" She then cuts me off by putting her hand on my arm for a quick moment. The action shuts me up
"What's 'bad' about this?" Louise says with a slight chuckle. She was clearly in disbelief but it didn't change my mind. My skin still crawled at the thought of being a disappointment to someone I looked up to
"Well, you know. I'm staying over, practically sneaking around, ditched my parents, I'm going for my brothers best-"
"Y/N!!" Louise screams after a while of trying to get my attention and me rambling on like a complete fool
"I can't say I know how this might feel," she starts and I can feel myself regaining my breath as she speaks
"But this is about you and Dan. Not Phil. And you didn't ditch your parents. A very important change of events came into your life so suddenly. You're allowed to stop and think." And when I hear everything out of Louise's mouth it makes it so clear. But how could it be right? I've spent so long beating myself up- I can't just flip a switch.
But...
She's right. I shouldn't dump all the pressure on myself. I know I'm not supposed to. The problem hasn't changed though. How sad that a comforting conversation can't make the situation any different. I still know nothing will change in the Phil area. Yes, this is my relationship. But other people's feelings are also involved.
But in the end,
I should work on protecting my own first
"Thanks Lou" by now I could breathe normally again.
"How long has this been going on?"
"Literally two days including today, so we'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone until Phil knows as well" I said and gave her hopefull eyes
"Oh, fine. But this won't be easy." She says seriously and points her finger in my direction
"Meh. At least you won't call me babe" I shrug and we laugh on our way out of the bathroom.
