When I clicked to see the entire tweet I couldn't even believe it was real life

The tweet read:
Hope the two love birds have fun at Vidcon😉 @danielhowell

With a picture below, of Dan and Cat kissing

I wanted to cry. Did he cheat on me? With her?

It's like everything in my being just broke. Got stripped of its strength.

"What's wrong?" Dan asked. Surprisingly his phone didn't ping at the tweet of his new little girlfriend

You'd think I'd want to get away from him. He hurt me. He's disgusting. But my will to get up off that bench was low. I felt no energy. Why move at all?

No. Not again. I thought
Find Maddie.

I got up off that bench without a single word to Dan and power walked inside.

"Hey. Are you okay? What happened back there?" She asked

Do I tell her here?

"Nothing. Just Cat being Cat."

"But what about you and Dan?"

"What about us? IS there an US?"

"Y/N, what are you on about?"

I sighed.

Dan's POV

She left me there. On that bench. To contemplate what Cat had done. What I had done... to her

I was an absolute idiot. It was in front of my face and everybody saw it but me. I knew Cat was a bitch. But I never turned her away... Why?

I guess. I guess I just cared what other people thought so much. I didn't want anyone to think Y/N and I were dating and hate her. So instead, I let Cat take control over me because I thought I had no good reason to tell her no.

And I knew if I told her Y/N and I were a thing she'd expose it to the world.

I COULDN'T HAVE THOUGHT OF A DIFFERENT REASON?

I was an idiot. And I had just found out just how big of an idiot I was.

Or at least I thought...

"DAN!" A voice yelled and I looked up to see Maddie... fuming

"What's up?" I asked and she sighed out of frustration

"This wasn't the plan dude!"

"What?"

"When I texted you this morning, the plan was that you make up with her! Surprise her at her show with the whole romantic gesture we thoroughly went through- BUT NO! YOU JUST CANT KEEP YOUR TONGUE OUT OF SOMEONE ELSES THROAT!" she yelled

What had I done?

"What the fuck.. is this?" She asked and held up a picture of Cat and I kissing. Casually thrown up on her social media.

"I. I don't-"

"You don't what?" She spat

I couldn't think. I couldn't speak.

"Pathetic" she said quietly. Defeated. As if she had given up on me. "Don't talk to me again." She said and walked back inside

What was I meant to do now?
