Chapter 44

Dan's POV:

"And why don't you wanna tell your bestfriend we're dating?" I ask Y/N while Phil and Maddie walk behind us. They aren't that close to us so I wasn't worried about them hearing the conversation.

"She keeps teasing me about you! And somehow, even though I already have you, it's working!!" I explained in a flustered matter

"Um. Did you say you 'have' me?" She says raising an eyebrow

"No- I-, you know what I meant... and don't avoid my question" I added at the end while pointing my finger at her

"I told Phil not to say anything as well. She needs to be as shocked as everyone else! Also the only people who know are Phil, Louise, and Joe, and if we tell another person it won't be as special."

"Uhuh. You just don't want Zoe to kill you." I tease

"Dear God, she'd go insane. She's ALREADY gonna go insane with the small amount of people that know right now." She flails her hands around while she talks. I can tell she's stressed so I put an arm around her.

"You'll be fine, I promise. And if I could give you a reassuring kiss right now, I would." I say and she chuckles.

"Thank you. And remove your arm, Howell, she already suspects you have a crush on me."

"I'm that obvious?"

"You just can't handle how much you love me!" She says sarcastically and nudges my arm away.

"You have no idea." I say to myself

"HEARD THAT!" She yells. She starts walking around to the driver's seat of her car... Phil and Maddie catch up with us and we all start driving to Y/N's house.

--time skip--

The four of us are supposed to meet up with Louise, Zoe, Alfie, and Joe back at Y/N's apartment.

"oh, Honey, I'm home!" Y/N yells when she opens the door with her keys. She barges into her house with me and Phil close behind. Maddie is a little shy- mostly hiding behind Phil.

Zoe enters from the kitchen and gives Y/N a big hug like she hadn't seen her in years. It had only been a few days! ...girls.

It's a good thing Phil's her brother, otherwise it'd be very obvious why she was staying at our flat. Not that she also didn't wanna see Phil, but ya know...

"Everybody!!" Y/N shouts, grabbing the attention of Alfie, Louise, and Joe.

She turns and grabs Maddie's hand from behind Phil. "This is Maddie." She smiles.

"Oh, Maddie!"
"I'm so glad you're okay!"
"When did you wake up?"

"Last ni- wait. You already know me?" She asks and I chuckled. Y/N had talked so much about her, of course we knew her.

"Absolutely! Y/N hasn't shut up about you since you got hurt, but by all the stories I've heard I can see why. You seem like a really good friend." Louise comments. Maddie pauses for a minute, looking surprised.

"Really?" She asks looking at Y/N

"Don't 'really' me. You think you're just gonna go in a coma and I'm not gonna acknowledge your existence to all of my friends?!" Y/N says and they both start laughing.

When the laughing dies down Zoe takes a few slow steps forward.

"So we meet again." Zoe says and now I'm confused.

"Yup. Back from the grave bitch." Maddie growls as they intensely glare at eachother face to face. But once those words are said neither of them could keep it in and start laughing 'til they can't breathe. I'm still highly confused but then Zoe starts to explain.

"I love this one" she starts wiping a tear from her eye, "we've already met before but we DO have kind of a rivalry, as she IS my competition for Y/N's bestfriend. I'll never win though, just look at that face!" Zoe yells and Maddie does her best pouty face. "It's very persuasive." Zoe concludes. We all chuckle and I can see Maddie loosen up a bit.

"Anyhow you all know Maddie, but Maddie doesn't know you. So do ya mind...?" Phil says gesturing for everyone to introduce themselves. It was nice of him to look after Maddie that way

"Alfie."
"Louise."
"Joe."

I feel like we all haven't hung out at the same time in so long and now that Maddie's here, I'm just so ready for the rest of today.

"So what are we filming anyways?"

"....Youtuber Whispers!"
