Chapter 25: Just once

Alyn's POV:

Louis was right. I should keep a distance to people right now. My mind flashes the conversation Louis and I had.

'Think about it, I'm sorry for hurting your feelings but you must obey your grandfather. I'll keep an eye of her if she's going to tell someone'

But how can I help Lautner with her cleanings? How should I explain it to her? I'll just make an excuse for her tomorrow.

I let out a deep breath after I lay down on my bed.

Anna's POV:

(The next morning)

It's the next morning, I arrived at school safely. Thank God that Alyn helped me last night. He knows more about the plants than I do. I should ask him why he knew so much, or maybe, never mind.

"Anna? Anna!" the voice snaps at me to reality

I shook my head and turned at my side, Yu was yelling my name.

"Are you okay? You've been starring at the wall for a long time" he said

I turned my head back in front, I was starring blankly at the wall in front of me, "Yeah, I'm fine" I replied

Then we went to our class. Oh, it's Alyn, the flower boy.

Today's lesson is about kings from around the world. I sat at my chair as I began to take down notes from the board, of course Alyn was sleeping.

"Now students" the teacher sands his hands together "Does anyone know who's King Alexander?"

All of the students raised their hands. King Alexander...

He looks around and sees Alyn sleeping "Mr. Scottfield"

Alyn jumped in surprise then quickly answered "Uhh, he's the king of England"

All of us were in shock, I too. Was he listening the whole time?

All of the students attention were on Alyn. He somehow froze in his seat then his eyes widened, his expression was something like he just accidentally told a secret to everyone.

"Were you listening the whole time?" I asked him

"I never thought you knew this kind of stuffs" a classmate said from the other side

"I just guessed it!" he replied

All of our classmates nodded but I feel like I knew he's lying because that's the same expression he showed yesterday when he made a fake excuse to Yu and Louis

"Uh, that's correct! Er-um...Mr. Scottfield" the teacher replied awkwardly "Let's proceed to the next person"

I glanced at Alyn, he somehow felt relieved after the teacher proceeded with his lecture.

Anna's POV:

Okay, the last class is over, I need to check the yard to finish watering the flowers.

I quickly ran towards the flowerbed, I looked closely at it and it's already clean. Who did this?

I turn my head around and it was the janitor.

"Hello Mr. Janitor!" I waved at him

"Janitor?!" he raised his voice then sighs "Uh...hello again Ms. Lautner" he smiles warmly

"Who cleaned the yard?" I asked him

"I came here to check it out and see if you made any progress, I was impressed! Did you convince him to do it with you?" he said and asks

"Uhh...yeah" I awkwardly smiled

"Thanks for your help!" he said "Your cleaning duty is over now, we'll take it from here"

"You're welcome!" I replied then he left to go home

Oh no, did he knew that we were here last night?! He seemed so calm though. At least the cleaning duty is over! I have more time to do the activities.

"Finally..." I sighed with relieve

Then someone tapped my shoulder

Alyn's POV:

What happened back there was scary af! My mouth almost got slipped as I said the answer to the teacher.

"Fuck...I need to be more careful from now on" I whispered to myself

My eyes caught Lautner rushing towards the yard. She's good in acting as a girl.

"How come nobody saw the real her?" I asked myself

I wanted to check her out if she does anything boyish so that I'll get evidences then show it to others.

Then I remembered what Louis said to me last night

"I should leave her" I said then I turn back

But a part of me really wanted to go and follow her "Just for a short time" I said as I follow her secretly.

I stopped by the bushes as I saw Anna standing alone in the yard.

I looked at the surroundings, it was all neat and clean. How did she clean it so fast?!

I look around to see if anyone is here before I jump out and ask her what happened

I walk towards her and tapped her in the shoulders

"Why do yoy even ask for my help" I sighed as I slapped my forehead

"It wasn't me! It was the janitor!" she shouted

"The janitor, huh?" I replied

"Oh by the way..." she said "The cleaning duty is over! You're free now" she laughed then punched my shoulder

Her punch was quite forceful...

"You're really that boyish, Lautner" I said

She started to get annoyed "Don't say that, idiot!" then she leaves
