Chapter 43: Duel

Narrator's POV:

It's been 45 minutes since the two of them talked. Anna stayed quiet whenever Alyn comes near her but she stays active towards the others.

"Ugh!" a fellow classmate groaned, everyone caught their attention

"Why do we have to practice at a local park? It's getting hot and boring in here" he continued

"Why don't you find a place that's suitable for play practices?" one of them replied

"He's right. This park isn't the right place for our practice, we might also disturb other people in here" said Paul, one of the big 5 from the play

"I know!" Yu snapped his fingers together, "We should ask permission from our teacher if we can use the Theatre Hall"

"Good idea!" said Rico, the technical director "so that we could start working for the lights and sounds"

Everyone's face lits up with excitement, hoping for the teachers to give them permission

"We, the big 5 will get permission from the teachers right now. Rico, you're in charge" Yu told them before he ran off

Everyone looks at Rico and waited for his orders

"Everyone, continue to memorize the script so that you know what you're doing when the TDR comes" he continued, "Alyn and Anna, try using diferent emotions in every line you've got. Ethan, help them out since you've tried acting before"

Anna turns her direction to Ethan with a surprised look on her face, "You tried acting before?"

"Yeah" Ethan replied, "It's because of my dad when I was young"

Alyn interrupts Ethan to focus with the practice.

"Dude chill, we've got time" Ethan shrugged along with a small laugh

"Stop playing" Alyn replied with a serious tone in his voice, remembered the fact that his friend was catcalling her earlier

"Okay okay" Ethan immediately surrendered, "Mr. Stubborn is in aa bad mood today"

After trying different emotions while saying their lines, Ethan taught them how to act while saying their lines.

"Alyn, put your hands around Anna's waist. Then move closer" Ethan instructed as they act

All eyes were on them, so interested to the two actors.

They look like a real couple when they act. that what everyone thinks. But there's one problem.

"Anna, why do you look so grossed out? Don't be shy it's just acting"

"I don't know how to act romantically!" Anna exclaimed, pushing Alyn away from his embrace

"Come on, please just do as I say. Action!"

Anna was shaking, nervous that she's near Alyn. The guy who kissed her that made her felt awkward and uncomfortable.

"Look him in the eyes" Ethan gestured in a funny way, Anna did as he said

"Good good, now instead of hesitating, move your face closer to him"

Anna did that as well but everyone can see her nervous expression. Her acting was a little too stiff.

"Just relax your body, go with the flow. Next, you say your lines 'What are we gonna do?'"

Everyone looks at Ethan, surprised with his acting skills. Even the way he said his lines were too dramatic. But when they focused at Anna...

"W-What are we gonna do?" her lines were too stiff and awkward
