Chapter 15: Laboratory (Part 2)

Alyn's POV:

"You haven't learned anything yet since you arrived here" one of our classmate shouted from the back

"I already knew it since I was young!" I replied

"Well if you really know the lesson, then call out the name of the family each group had without looking at the book" my fellow classmate shouted back

Everyone paid attention to me as I was about to recite from my seat. These shitheads doesn't know that I'm actually smart, well of course because I kept it secretly. The only person in this room who knows about my intelligence is Mr. Olson, I decided to tell him the fact that I'm actually smart but I pretend to be lazy. He understands me and keeps my secret from being exposed.

He's good at acting like a real teacher who scolds lazy students, but smacking me on the head all the time sure is suffering.

I cleared my throat as I was about to say the families. I can sense the new/secretly boyish girl, Anna, paying attention as well.

"Group 1 is called the Alkali family/Lithium family. Group 2 is the Beryllium fam, the 3rd is the scandium fam, then next is the titanium fam, vanadium fam..." then I continued to say the elements' family name.

All of them were speechless after I recited, even the girl. Good thing Mr. Olson gave me a perfect score in recitation for reciting the families. Well done, me

Anna's POV:

I was impressed by Alyn's knowledge. My biggest question is how come he's very smart even though he always skips class and sleeps?! There's something off about him, and I need to know why.

Alyn chillingly sits on his chair like nothing happened. Mr. Olson continued to discuss our topic

"After learning the atoms and the periodic table, we're going to do an experiment. All of you must pay attention because one teeny tiny wrong ingredient will cause a huge damage" Mr. Olson said

Yu got up from his seat surprisingly "That's insane! Are we really going to do such a dangerous experiment?! I'm not going to do it, sir!" he exclaimed

"Do you want to go back from the start? To grade 7? Mr. Olson said with a threatening tone of his voice

"Uhh- let's do our best guys! I love science!" Yu turned to us with a trembling voice but tries to keep it cheerfully

Alyn groaned loudly but no one cares. No one's concerned of Alyn's injuries at all. Maybe it's because they're used to him seeing with cuts, but still...

I'm the only one who's concerned of him. I know I tried to avoid talking to him but seeing him with several bruises and cuts makes me so worried of him.

Timidly, I take out some bandages from my bag. I know he would refuse to put it on his face, so I called out his name

"Um, Alyn. Excuse me" I said to him. Then after he turns to me, I hurriedly put the bandage to the cut on his eyebrow

"Uh, hey!" he looks at me with surprise

"You don't have a mirror, so I thought it'd be too hard to do it on yourself" I said as I peel of some of the bandages from it's cover
